hey guys so i just got my throttle body from throttlebodys.com and as its 2am and i just got home from work and i just looked at my throttle body let me tell you it looks better then new, everything seems like it was done really good.

i just noticed that if i place it infront of me with my computer light on the back of it i see light arounf the throttle plate not much and not all around it but enough to make me worry if it would leak.

i see light from the other side where i have marked it on the image. close to 360 around it.

should i get in touch with throttlebodys.com and tell them about it, have them fixe it or its fine like that?

i almost think it was over bored.

there is supposed to be a little gap there. but the stockers are usually so craped up that you cant see it.
If you have issues with it idleing to high, you could adjust the throttle stop to close the gap a little. But I would put it on and mess with the biss first.

There should be next to no gap. How much air leaks around the throttle place make a huge difference in the idle quality and if you will have surging issues.

Talk to Steve @ throttlebodys.com and ask him how much clearance he sets them up with.

the gap isn't big where you can see it at naked eye but when with a light you can see the light all around, i would say its so small you can't feed a paper, maybe a hair.
i just want to make sure i take care of this now, then have it sit here for another 3, 4 months and then take care of stuffwhen the car is built and ready to be driven.

maybe ill try it on my friends car and see ### happens.

i got in touch with him and he said that for the throttle plate to fit in the tb its got to be a lil smaller e says about (a half thousanths smaller).

to me that sounds pretty small, he also said if i have any igh idel to let him know he wll take care.

should i still worry about it?,
or maybe just try it on my friends car and see what happens?

From the way you describe it (less than a paper width), then you'll be fine. Also inform him on what you plan on doing with that TB. I would just email it to their tech group and save the email, this way you can prove you addressed it when you first got it.

I. Got in touch with Steve he said to let him know ### happens with it when I try it on.
I'll be trying it on on my friends car and see what happens.
I really hope it's not a problem do.

There is supposed to be a very small gap. you usually cant see it but if you hold it next to a light (on a clean one) you can see the light come through. Many people dont know that. Also, you can usually adjust the TB shut more than it comes from the factory with the throttlestop switch. At least that is whatI have seen from the 25 or 30 that I have seen.

on the image above as you can see from I have it marked my only shows the light on 180*of the throttle plate, on the other half the throttle plate toches the tb and you can not see any light.
My point is that it's not an all around thing, it's only on the top of the throttle body I posted " Wich is mine.
