Im no good with these things. I have a 95 gst with the normal, evoIII, 550's, Front mount, ported manifold, 3" exhaust, SAFCII, and in the next week or so im gonna put a head I built on that is ported and polished, Brian Crower 272's, Brian Crower valve springs and retainers as well.

Just puttin around while barely on the gas at a steady speed im running in the low to high 10's for my AFR. the car runs but it runs rich. I need it leaned out quite a bit. @ WOT its around 10.9-11.4 so its ok at WOT but my fuel mileage and power is poor due to not being tuned for shit. Does anyone live in PA or semi close to zip 16150 or hermitage pa that is good with these SAFC's? I'll pay

The Global correction value for 550cc injectors is: (450/650) - 1 = -0.1818182, or about -18%.

This basically means that as a whole the 550's will flow roughly 18% more fuel at all throttle points than the stock 450's. The AFC will then, in turn, need to correct by -18% in order to compensate for the larger injector size.

Here's my method when trying to tune a car that I'm not familiar with:

I always start by setting my throttle points to 30% (low) and 75% (high). I then move to the correction table and set all throttle correction points to 18% across the board....both low and high throttle. This gives a ROUGH esimate of where you need to be.

From there, you can begin to tune the car. Generally speaking, you will want more correction (less fuel) in the low throttle area, and less correction (more fuel) in the high throttle area to get a perfect tune. This isn't the case on all cars....you will just have to experiment and see what works best for you.

It may not be the best way or the right way, but that's how I've always done it and it works fine for me. If anyone thinks they have a better way, feel free to add info or correct me.

thanks jusmx141, im goning to give that a try once my buddy brings my car back LOL. I kinda get it. I was taught to tune with standalones at school but these SAFC's...forget it LOL. Anyone else have anything to say about that?
Also, when my car was down/broke I put the evo 550's in and 16g and what not then found out what was wrong with the car, it was the crank sensor so we put a 1g CAS on to delete the 2g cam and crank sensor but whenever im on the highway or higher then 2g at a steady cruise the car will like break up and bog down and the only way it goes away is if I shut the car off and restart it and then its fine. This only happens above 2grand at a steady speed/close to the same throttle. I believe its the ecu telling me that either its the tune or somehow put the 1g CAS in wrong? Is that possible? Because I know the ECU constantly diagnosis and it seems like thats when it does it... Anyone got any idea?

Did you re-time the car once you put the 1G CAS on? It sounds like your base timing is off.

I re-read your first post and you're seeing AFR's in the 10's while cruising, which is WAY too rich. That could be the reason the car is breaking up in a light load situation....the engine is just getting way more fuel than it can burn. Get those light- and cruising-throttle AFR's up around 15:1 or so and your fuel mileage will return to normal.

I'd also change the oil once you get the car tuned. All of the unburnt fuel has seeped past the rings and into the crankcase and mixed with the oil. This KILLS the film strength of the oil, no matter how many miles are on it. Failure to change the oil could cause you to spin a rod bearing or wipe out the turbo.

I did NOT retime the whole car, just put the car to TDC then installed the 1G CAS. Yeah I know man, If I was better with the SAFC they would be, im gonna try setting it to 18% like you mentioned. Thats why I asked if its the CAS out of time, or my tune. I know im running rich as shit.
Good point on the oil man, I wouldnt have thought about that. Thanks bro. Appreciate it
