Well guys i officially took delivery of my 93 eagle Talon AWD. Nice car, but needs a clutch. Was going to buy the ACT 2600, how hard is it to put a clutch in one of the things. Also give me some feedback on which exhaust is the best, Thermal Tech, Bushur, Greddy, Apex, Come on now i am wanting a nice bolt up kit and am going to run a 3" down and complete exhaust with no cat for now. But would like to use a test pipe in case i need to put a cat on later. Give me some feedback

ACT2600 is good. It's kind of a pain to install a clutch w/o a lift on a AWD. Some people who have done it many times in there driveway may say differently.

www.rnrracing.com has a high quality and cheap turbo back exhaust.

The 2600 is a great clutch. As far as putting the clutch in, it depends on what options the car has. If you have ABS (like me), it will be a pain in the ass. The guys at Slowboy Racing changed mine and they said instead of being able to reach in from the top and pull the tranny, someone had to lay underneath and catch it. I don't know about you, but catching a 120lb tranny while flat on you back could get tricky, esp if it's slippery.

As far as an exhaust, just make sure that if you are going 3" that the system doesn't have any neck-downs along the way. Just a warning, a 3" without a cat will be kinda loud so you may want to think about having the cat. first and then getting a test pipe later.

Finally, take off your heat shields (You'll probably have to cut the lower shield out with a torch since it wraps around everything) and check the exhaust mani and O2 housing for cracks (I would be astounded if you didn't have at least one). You may also want to check the bolts holding the exhaust mani to the block to see how many are still intact (I'm missing half of them). If you're going to spend all that money on an exhaust, you might as well get the 2g manifold and either a ported 2g or an EVO housing as well. Oh yeah, keep the upper heat shield and either clean it up or if it's too bad, buy one from a 2g.

The ACT 2100 is also a good clutch, I don't know how much BHP you plan on running. I have a BR 3" turboback with test pipe, it is not as loud as you would think. I will try and get some audio clip's.

2600 is a good clutch. For the exhaust I recommend 3in ATR. My exhaust is 3in from downpipe back(no cat). Kinda loud but oh well. :D

Just another reply. I have had both the Act2600, and now I have the CM2500. Both were with street discs. I miss the super stiff clutch pedal with the ACT. But I must say that my CM2500 is holding my 373whp very easily. It grips just as good as my ACT did, but has less chatter, and a much softer pedal(which is something I miss with my about the ACT) Many people, however, prefer the softer feel. Just some food for thaught. As for the exhaust, I would never run anything but Thermal. But I did chop the neck down it has.

Well i am a former mustang man so stiff clutches are a part of my life, LOL. I have heard good things about the 2600, i dont know what the long term plans are for the car, i know i at least want it to run 11's eventually, i have to have something to replace my 10 sec. mustang LOL. It was a 5 spd, but it just wasnt a fun street car anymore. I really am looking forward to this little car, but i dont want to do or buy anything twice so i am just getting the better stuff now. I have been looking at the Buschur racing exhaust, the only thing i DONT like about thier 3" system is that it is a slip fit system, but i cant find a system that has 3", with flanges and a test pipe and cat that have flanges. I was looking at the o2 eliminators, are their any good ones or do guys just recommend me porting my own and saving the money for other things. Also, wha is the big difference between these $500+ boost controllers and the manual controllers. I am just planning on getting a manual, is there a reason i should get an electonic. Hey guys i appreciate your help on this car. I am kind of blind on it, but maybe eventually i will have enough knowledge, maybe one day you all will ask me for my opinion. LOL.

Electronic are jsut ease of use. And you can change your boost on the fly in the car. MBC must be changed under the hood, then drive to check the boost, then adjust again until you get the right psi. www.boostcontrollers.com
JoeP has a new Electronic controller out, there is a group buy on them in the classifieds, should be in the first few pages:thumb:

As far as exhaust, get a full turboback. www.rnrracing.com has good product and prices.

The A.H.P. exhaust is the straightest and nicest sounding I've ever seen for 1st generation DSMs. It is straight back from the turbo until a 10 degree bend right where the muffler is. You can't get much straighter and free flowing than that!

As for the clutch, ACT 2600.
