Shoot me if this shouldn't be here. But on the new lancer its a 4g63 right? So hypothetically wouldn't it bolt up to a 2g eclipse or maybe even a 1g. I was pondering this after i read the specs and was wondering if it can be done if you think?
 
Yup they engine is backwards like in the 2G N/T cars.Which reminds me does anyone think that it would fit into a 2G N/T car since my 420A motor is crap now.

no, the 420a is chrysler and has nothing in common with the 4g63 other than DOHC 2.0 4 banger. Well it could fit, but would take many $'s and hours, you would be much better off building your 420a and putting a Hahn turbo kit on it.
 
well yeah but if you have the 4g63 from the lancer you could say you have a lancer engine instead of a neon with a turbo

Yeah but the problem is thanks to Gude Performance and thir crap head package my 420A motor is junk.And what I was thinking is that since the lancer motor is backwards from the GS-T anad the GSX motor it should fit.In theory at least.But there is nothing I can do with my 420A motor.The gouges in the cylinder walls are .080 at the deepest point which means that I can't bore the motor out and run it safely.So I might as well pull it and chuck it in the scrap metal bin because that is about all the motor is worth now.
 
Then just get a built 420a and a turbo kit and run 15psi of boost.
 
but who sells built 420A?Everything that I have seen advertized is built 4g63 motors.I haven't even seen a shop that would attempt to build a 420A.Know of any?
 
Not only that, but Evo 4G63s sit on a different mount system. We'd have to get all Honda-fied to fit one in anything. Mounting kit and all.
 
I would go with Hahn. I mean how bad can that be? I bought my 420A from them with a 16G. Dont try a motor swap becuase of the motor mounts that will have to be made and it will never run perfect. You'd probably have better luck building your old motor. If you build motor mounts and all that stuff good luck but on the back of your car paint JDM built. This is just my .02 opinion but I would think about it!

But I can't build my old motor due to the fact that the cylinder wall of the #4 piston is destroyed.Where is the built motor on hahn's web site or do you have to call them and ask about it?

Ok no one is seeming to underestand about this motor.IT IS JUNK.It cannot be saved.That is what the machine shop told me.Besides look where I am located at, there is only one machine shop and thats it.If they say no dice that s it unless I go like 8 hours north to Bremen where they have a ton of machine shops, but I have no car right now so that is a little bit tough.Sorry to sound rude but everyone is telling me how to fix it when it can't be fixed, I just flatout need a new engine for it.
 
only one solution for your problem bro.... 350 swap that hooker! J/K... im not sure what they sell in germany that you can swap in, otherwise i would help ya out. and the 4g63 in the lancer wont work, its just not the same...
 
Well hey bro, I have an extra 420a longblock setting at the house I don't need anymore.... But I will warn you it needs to have the thrown rod bearing fixed... that's why I bought another motor and swapped it in my Eclipse. The old one I was saving to rebuild for a hahn setup, but instead I went and bought my 91 Talon Tsi AWD. So it still sets in my garage waiting on me to do something with it... But ya, let me know if you want it, I'll sell it to you relatively cheap as it's not really doing me any good.... My e-mail is [email protected] Just let me know...
 
i was just thinking to myself this morning how cool it would be to swap an EVO viii motor into my tsi. can you imagine if you could drop that thing in and swap out your ecu... why couldn't they make it that easy!! as stated above though, the engines are "backwards" o well... i guess nothings ever that easy.
 
Zac83 is right, sleeve the motor. Maybe they just didn't think of that. Talk to your machine shop about it, it is very easy to do. Bore it out, heat the block and cool the sleeves, then push the sleeves in(quickly) and rebore to the stock bore. All done! If they can't handle that, you don't want them working on your engine anyway!!!
 
I could look into it they are just not very good with american spec engines here.They are great with VW engines though.I look into it other wise I am just havve to get a whole new motor.
 
damn honda bastards have it so easy. i guess the 4g63 evo swap would be the h22a in a civic. Why not just build up the 4g63 in our cars. It'd avrage out in price wouldnt it?
