ok- i took my 1999 gst in for new turbo upgrade vpc super afc fmic and supporting mods.... it runs fine around the block and stop light to stop light but when gettin on it hard and you let off the gas it dies...

i already did some research and it is not the blow off valve and yes it is vented to the atmosphere but even re directed it still does the same thing.. also another friend of mine said it could be the ignition it is not that ethir.. the tuner that is working on it is stumped and is trying to fix it but he has had it for 2 weeks with the same problem of it dying after the car is reved high, and let off the gas. and i wanted to know if any of you might know what it coud be or how to remedy it?

if i need to write any more mods etc to give you a better idea of somthing let me know, Any information at all would be greatly appreciated..

How long does it stay dead? Will it restart right away? Do you have a superlight flywheel? The revs might be dopping too fast for the Idle Speed Controller to catch it. Or does it die even if you leave it in gear? Maybe check the wires to the TPS, ISC, and VPC map sensor to make sure they have a good connection and they have enough slack so the engine can move around at WOT and not get pulled on. Hope this helps.

It might be the flywheel...Cause it's happening to me too, after I installed a Fidanza flywheel a while back...When you drive normal, its okay, but when you slam on it and let off the gas pedal, the RPM guages runs down quickly and dies out...Starting it back up is no problem either....

I know you said it's not your BOV, but I would suggest recirculating it and resetting your ECU, and taking it for a WOT test again. I was venting before, then when I added an MBC it would die after hitting it then letting off, I guess higher boost caused it(went from 12 to 15psi). But anyway, I recirculated after that, would still die at first, then I disconnected the battery overnight and the next day it was fine.

It could be the combination of the VPC and light flywheel. It's just one of those quirks. The VPC's manifold pressure sensor is probably still reading alot of vaccum at the revs fall past 1,000. Maybe adjust your driving habits so the car stays in gear until the rpm get lower. After a WOT blast, shift up and coast down.
