I think my 14B turbo is dead or very tired. I am looking at new turbos and i don't want to get biger injectors yet. My car is all stock right now I have a MBC and a 2.5 cat back but they are not on my car yet. what else would i need to run the 16G. My price range for everything is about 1 grand for the turbo and to get it installed. Does that sound to unrealistic to get a new 16G and have it installed for that price? Also i am not sure if you are not saposed to ask about this but What would be a better choice a small 16G or big 16G. My car is daily driven and my 1/4 goes are just to be in mid 12's. Thanks for any help.

You could always install the 16G by yourself save some money for other mods. But if your going to a shop they usually charge around 3-400 to install a turbo but it depends on the shop of course.

I wouldnt think it would be too hard to install a 16 on our cars because it should bolt right up. But ofcourse everything that just bolts right up to any car will almost always have a few "problems" that you will run into.

your going to have to get a new fuel pump if you plan on running anything more then 15psi. Or at minum do the rewire. Should be all you need to start working with a 16G.

1000 isnt enough money for the setup on a Big16G. You'll need a little more.

After i get the new turbo i will be putting my friends injectors on my car i think they are 620? they are six 600 somthing injectors and i will get a biger pump. So for 1 grand i could get a small 16G put on my car depending on labor of the shop? the shop i was looking at charges 70 an hour labor do you have any idea how long it takes on avg. to put on a 16G

With stock injectors and the boost set to 15PSI 2.5 cat back would a 16G be able to put me in the high 12's or low 13's?

i am using my tax returns to get the turbo then when i get laid off work i got another job lined up already i am using the money from my severince pay sorry for the spelling to buy biger injectors and a super afc.

I ran until recently, a 16g on a 100% completely stock car. Now, I have a rewired fuel pump, and some other misc mods.

I run it at ~14 psi without much knock, but I have a pocketlogger watch things.

Also, I installed it myself without any problem, and I'm a retard at working on things. It was a very easy install. You'll just want to get the crush washers, and new gaskets from somewhere. Save yourself some cash, and learn stuff too :) I picked mine up brand new for $600 dollars, and then 30 or so for gaskets, etc.

About the big/small 16g, there's essentially no difference. And even if there was any difference, you wouldn't notice it on a stock-ish car anyway. I'd go small, and save some dough.

There is a difference between the big 16G and a 16G. Like you said, you would not notice it on a stock car. A 16G is good for 300BHP while a big 16G is good for 350BHP. Plus a big 16G flow's 45 more CFM, there is not a real big price difference between the two.

There does not seem to be much of a difference in performance between the two wheels, I think it is because the small is more efficient at moving the air for some reason. The compressor map on the small goes to 77% efficiency island and the big only goes to 71% if I remember correcty.

if you were interested in a small 16g, and wanted a set up for less than a grand, then go to the classified section here, someone, sorry forget the name, is selling "brand spanking new" small 16g turbos for 550 shipped, seems like a good deal to me

You heard it ladies and gentlemen! $530 for a brand spankin new Mitsubishi 16G turbocharger. Shipped freight anywhere in the continental United States for $20.

there it is, hope it helps

I wont be able to buy it for about a month. I am getting info on it right now to see what i want. I am using some of my tax return money for this. If he still has some then i will get it off him.

i dont mean to bash here and i dont know if it is against the rules to say anything about vendors, but if those are turbochargers.com built turbos it may not be such a great deal. too many stories about month old turbos exploding then the owners getting shafted on warranty and service.
