GreenBelt,
just looking for some feed back, on how streetable the l3r can be and what type of pump gas performance can be expected. for the time being im looking at a ported head sheet metal intake arp head studs and 100% stock bottom end. the rest of my mods are on my profile page minus the turbo. what are some advantages/disadvantages of running this turbo on pump as opposed to a L2R or comparable sized turbo. Same question goes for race gas. would it be a good idea to move to 720 injector or will my 650's be ok?

Well if you find anything out let me know because I'm wondering the same thing. Debating between that and the slowboy gt-12. I will drive mine on the street as well as on pump gas.

I just ordered a slowboy GT-13 a couple of days ago, Mike said it had full boost around 3,800 rpms. Bigger than a L2R smaller than a L3R, right inbetween!

Ah maybe that's the one I was thinking of. I want something a little bigger than a L2R, but am not sure if the L3R is too big. Thats why I came to this topic. It would be good to know how they both run.

If you are looking to go big and want to stay with a turbo thet will bolt up to your exhaust manifold then why not just get a FP Red. There is no mystery there. It works. ;)

Lets not get into a turbo debate here guys, this isnt what he asked.

JDM. I suggest calling AGP and asking them for assitance in regards to the L3R questions since there are not many L3R owners around, the ony I can think of is unreal . You might want to contact him, he has had both the L2R and L3R.

In regards to Injectors. When I pushed 28lbs of boost on my Bosch 650s I was showing a 98% duty cycle. I want to go to 750s with my L2R so Id assume nothing less for a L3R.

thanks for the input Larry, i do plan on calling agp. i also thought it would be a good idea to post this question in the forums. so everyone who might be considering this turbo could get some feedback also. im sure Kevin and Ben will post at some point. the only reason i said 720s is because i already have a 720 vpc chip. if you were at 98% duty cycle with your setup at 28 psi on a L2r, im sure 720's+ will be needed:thumb:

where did you get a 720 VPC chip.

I don't think you can get one. 660 is the only customized prom chip from BR. However you can use afc in conjunction with vpc to fine tune the 720's.

I know this sounds old school, but how about Frankenstein 4. prolly it's in between l2r and l3r. Usually they sellf for $800 used in the trader.

Yeah it uses mitsu heavy duty thrust bearing. I think it's something like 60-1 trim compressor wheel and td06 turbine wheel. Just bought one for $800. Wanted to get l2r ball bearing, but used frank 4 fits my bill better.

I wasn't trying to whore your thread, if it came out that way I am sorry. I would like to know as well (running an L3R on pump). Mainly because that's on my list of turbo choices. I you do find anything out let me know. Because this is my daily driver and will obviously see alot of pump gas time.

ROFL, AHAHAHAHAH funny #### right there.

The L3R is very streetable. Starts pulling hard in the mid 3000's, has full boost just over 4000. I'll have to check for the exact numbers but I think Nate put down ~430awhp at 22psi on the L3R. You will need at least 720's for the L3R.
JDM-email me [email protected] I'll give you the full rundown
