ok, got my cone filter in. now for the other end.

i want an affordable 3" exhaust kit. what do you guys have/prefer/recommend?

looking to stick to $400-550

Apex makes a good N1 exhaust. Not to Ricey, but deep. Sound bothers you, slap on the silencer! They also have the n1 downpipe to go with it for an additional cost.

ATR make a good 3" stainless exhaust system that is very affordable. Its mandrel bent cat back system runs any where from $400.00 to $495.00 on the web, depending on where you look. I have there 3" from down pipe back with a hahn racecraft O2 eliminator welded to the down pipe (didn't bolt up to the ATR down pipe), and I love the system. If you ask me its the best exhaust for the money. The first link below has it for $399.00, check it out:

My bad, that was the down pipe for $399.00. But I'm sure if you look hard enough you'll find it for around that price. :D

That is a good price for a turbo back system. Butt I check it out just now and its aluminized steel not stainless steel. Still a great buy if your not concerned with the looks of the metal years down the road. ;)

I've been looking around and haven't really found much anybody got any suggestions? I was also looking for a nice intake? My car is completely stock :(

I say go and get the AHP Thermal R & D exhaust it's a full 3 inch for a damn good price plus good work and customer servise ! I just got the RnR Racing aluminized turbo-back exhaust with the O2 eliminator downpipe. The whole deal was $550, which included adding $50 for a stainless muffler. Seems pretty good so far, but only had it on the car for a few days. I think full stainless adds another $100 or so, maybe more.

I got a 3" SS Thermal R&D Cat-back...i love it a lot.....not ricey at all....it has a nice deep tone to it.....the whole exhaust is polished and it shines up really nice....definitely a great buy!

I have the Buschur 3' stainless steel catback exhaust. There are no bends in the piping resorting in hardly any restrictions. I believe ATR is the manufacturer of the exhaust but don't quote me on that. The exhaust goes for about $450. Along with that I have a 2.5' straight pipe and DP. This entire system is really loud at WOT but it's good enough to scare off the ricers in town.

look into buschur racing exhaust he usually sells them pretty cheap. and from what i heard they are extremely good.

I recently bought a apex n1 universal and built a custom 2.5" exaust and it sounds great and is very easy to make. what you need it a 4' piece of streight pipe then order 4 90 degree mandrel bends from jc whitney go to a muffler shop and have the ends expanded to slip over each other and if you dont want to have them weld the stock mounts onto the pipeing and weld the slip joints on the piping. All together this costs around 200 for the muffler and 40 or 50 for the piping and welding and its better for the price then any 500 or 600 dollars exaust you order. With this setup that gets rid of the cat, it probally gains 20 or 30 horsepower and feels like the car has power all the way to redline. If you have any questions email me at [email protected] and if you wanted 3" just by 3" pipe.

Thermal's exhaust is 3" OD which makes it not a TRUE 3" system

I just verified with ThermalR&D and their system is a true 3" internal diameter. The only place that it is not a true 3" is where it necks down to bolt up with the stock catalytic converter.

Has anyone modified their Thermal to remove the section that necks down and instead bolt up to a 3" cat?

The resonator in the n1 makes it crap because? Seriously the resantors that the n1 uses and all quality catbacks use do not rob any power they just make it sound less raspy. The tanabe system is the only 3" catback I've seen that uses the crap resanators that rob power.

buschur 3" catback $450 or buy my thermal for 450 so i can get one;) this thermal is just to damn quietOMG
