Yo!
My #2 cylinder's injector is badly damaged. On the plastic tip that protrudes into the head of the engine, the black tip is sliced up. Also, the rubber grommet is ripped that sits on the head. Autozone has a kit, but its just the rubber gasket that seals the top into the fuel rail. Is there a kit that has the gasket that sits in the head? Even better, is there a replacement for the hard plastic tip on the end of the injector? The injectors are impossible to find here... the wait time is outrageous and the cheapest I can find is $270 for 1. I'd prefer not to move to larger injectors - I'm saving that for next year. Thanks!

I'm not sure about rebuilding them, but I know you can get used stock injectors for cheap. There are MANY people upgrading with no need for their old ones. Try searching the classifieds. Just make sure they are from a turbo, and if they are 1g that it wasn't an auto, they are only 390's.

Edit: Or if your car is a 1g auto, make sure to get the injectors from an auto 1g as well :p

I wouldn't think so, I had some trashed injectors that had fubar'd pintle caps also, and tried to figure out if I could just changed a good one onto them, it doesn't seem possible without breaking them. I would think a specialty shop would have to do it. Now, don't get me wrong, I'm sure it's possible to do yourself, but I decided it wasn't worth messing up a good injector to fix one that's old and possibly won't work right anyway.

Guys who use our injectors in Hondas will just remove all the pintle caps if there is one that is broken. They don't seem to have any ill effects from it. Not ideal, but if its only temporary its an option.
