How Audible should the 1G turbo sound be?

I recently acquired a stock '90 Gs-t with 170k but it's been taken care of pretty well (I think). It seems to accell quite nicely, but the turbo seems to have a little bit louder than normal boost sound. My question is how loud your turbos where from the factory. Mine's not loud by any means, but I can hear it a little bit even with the windows up, and I figured it'd be pretty silent unless modded. Maybe I have a leak somewhere, or a oil leak in it.

A PO may have removed the silencer from the intake, which can make it pretty audible. Be happy, it's a good thing. 8)

Note the silencer, as Dr. Ziplock mentions. Pull your air can and look to see if you still have it.

Ok thanks...I'll have to check that tomorrow. I'm just worried that somethings wrong and i'm making too light of it. Still reads boost on the factory guage though, so I guess that's a start.
