Hey just curious....I just got in MY Big T28 and I am anxious to get it installed. I am alot like you just a few dollars behind....Man the price of the turbo wiped me out!!!!

Anyways.....my questions pertain to:

1. Will I even notice that I changed the turbo till I get a S-afc and injectors, and a new fuel pump?

2. I have re-wired my pump and had my injectors cleaned.

I live in Germany and @ 1800 ft elevation, and they sell ONLY 98 octane here.

3. My mods include a full mandrel bent 2 1/2" Turbo back with Test pipe.

4. I have run a best of 14.90 @ 91 on stock everything except free mods. I really wanna get low 13's.....like 13.2-13.5 for now and get the AFC and Injectors and pump and go 12.7!

I know I will need a clutch sooner or later but I will address that as it comes up....this stock clutch is only 12,000 miles old and hold great....for now.

What do you think. I have a GSX by the way.

Give me some input I am not impervious to learning.

well my friend with everything - T28powered, FMIC, Injectors, every supporting mod - but stock internals

Just ran a 12.1@111

I have another friend that has a T-28 that ran a 13.4@101

with almost the same mods you have - exhaust, downpipe, K&N, springs, shocks, boost controller

and I think that's about it.

anyways if my other friend can pull off a 13.4@104 with a T-25

You'll be able to do low 13's


all of them are AWD though.

I'm FWD and with my HRC S20G I've only been able to get a 13.1@115

yes you will notice it BUT you will be completely disapointed IMHO.. The first few drives I took in my car I was like WTF, this sucks.. the car was barely faster then it was on te T25, it held boost to redline but it wasnt any quicker then the T25 was.. then I put in the 550s and Fuel Pump and whoa crap, what a difference like night and day.. that made an amazing difference..

I dont know about yer time.. I can tell you that with fuel mods you should be able to get there easily.. but without doing the fuel work your required to keep the boost down and what fun is that?? seriously find a way to invest the $$ to get a fuel pump, injectors, and an AFC.. dont skimp out now
 
i'll help you out man, i have the same mods as you except i have a fuel pump, but i can tell you that bone stock my car ran trap speeds at 90mph, then i did all my mods including the BIG28 turbo, but had stock exhaust, and i ran trap speeds of 94mph at 13psi, so i would say it made a good difference, but now that i have exhaust it runs pretty good, never been to the track because of wheel hop but i would say it should run traps at about 100mph or so. only problem i have is that i have bad boost spike, which i cant seem to fix, and also it feels like it just dies in the middle of 3rd gear:rolleyes: . So go ahead and throw that turbo on there and then work from there, thats what i'm doing

do you have a egt gauge and pocketlogger?
 
yep, i think thats my problem here, or its my damn joe p, spike jumps to about 22-23psi, then goes to 16psi so i would say that is pretty big spike. Oh and also it takes like 2sec. for it to fall back which seems a little long to me.

i really dont have any extra money this month to buy injectors and all, since i paid off my car:D , but do you think its the 02 housing?

and another think i raced my buddies stock 97 mustang cobra and i can leave him in the dust in 1st and 2nd gear, but like i said 3rd just falls off and he goes by me(he runs 14.20s @100mph).
 
i know i had boost spike with the T25 and everyone told me it was becuase of the o2 housing so I wasnt gonna risk the o2 housing with the Big 28.. im sure its prolly a combination of that acting as a bottle kneck and your boost controller may have something to do with it..

the reason I ask is cuz i wanna sell my ported o2 housing.. im looking for 150 shipped.. I wanna buy a o2 dump tube instead :)

btw.. once you do yer fuel work, the mustang will woop yer butt from a launch but as soon as yer traction hits youll end up smoking him :).. top end has its benefits
 
i'll have to wait awhile to do anything else, but i'm sure its the o2 housing thats giving me trouble, so with the big28 and ported o2 housing do you have any spike at all?
 
i was spiking to 30lbs and dropping off instantly for a week until I figured out i changed the Profec B settings for some reasno.. anyhow I set them back and it hits 20lbs and stops right there and holds till redline.. or atleast it did while it ran :)
 
ah ok, well thanks for your input :)

oh one more thing, do you think i'm possibly just feeling the spike in 3rd gear which makes me think the power is dying down? or maybe it could be that my intercooler is getting heat soaked at that point.
 
Well I was sitting here looking at your posts.....I am planning on porting MY O2 sensor housing. MYSELF. I have the carbide bits and the polishing rolls and planned on doing it my self. I mean how hard can it be to open up the hole 1 cm? and then just blend the rest? Later on down the road I plan on porting the ehxaust housing on my T28 also. But currently MY Big T28 is UNported. I wanted to go in steps. My budget is Hella limited. Know anyone who wants a 1G Talon TSI FWD? That would free up enough for injectors and a S-AFC. Anyways check my latest post about what Loren at Forced Performance told me about injectors.
