Cracked T-stat housing cauing my problem?

Oki, long story short, over the winter i put a new MLS HG, bigger FMIC, PTE 5031RE, blah blah blah, and recently got it running. Everything is fine, short of my coolant problem

I know a lot of people have the same problem, and I've read a lott of posts about it, but my car constantly fills the overflow bottle, to the point of wetting the ground.

So, i also put a new t-stat housing on the car, and when it ran, notice d a leak around the head of inside bolt holding the water neck on. Replaced the neck, still leaked, so i determined it to be a a cracked housing. I RTV'd it for the time being, and the leak stopped.

It just clicked in my head that air could easily be entering the system through this crack, despite the RTV, and be causing my pushing problem right?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance.
 
Did you get your head milled and block decked before putting on an MLS gasket. If either of them are warped it's not gonna seal and it's gonna push combustion back into the cooling system and make your coolant bottle overflow. Does it do it after a while or right away when you start it?
 
I did not have the head or block decked, only because the motor only had about 7k on it when i did the gasket.

As far as doing it right away or not, it only does it if I drive the car, sitting and idling it doesnt do it at all.
 
You only really use MLS headgaskets when your head or block or both are decked toherwise peoepluse a cometic. also if air is in the system that will be your problem replace or fix the t stat housing and run it and shut it off and keep doing that run it until its at operating temperature and it wille ventually get rid of the air bubble.
