I have new valve seals to put in and I'm having a hell of a time trying to remove the pieces that hold the cams into place. Anyone know the best or easiest way to remove these? I'm thinking trying to pry it off but I don't want to break anything. TIA

DO NOT PRY THEM OFF

If you have a small rubber hammer, you can LIGHTLY tap them back and forth (up and down, not left to right) after removing the bolts.

but do NOT pry them... unless you want to purchase a new head.

Don't loose or break them either.... that's very bad, as they cannot be replaced (well, unless you wanted to get a line hone... but that's a #####)

Huh?

Just use a rag or something to protect the aluminum and clamp down on them with vice grips. Then rock it back and forth until it comes off the head. They are kinda pressed on the peice the bolts go through. They will come off without any problems.

That's what I did! :thumb:

Anyway, make sure you don't scratch the head while you're at it, and remember the way they came off, because they more or less have to go back on the same way.
