I got my liquid filled guage and it had a very big air bubble in it (i know they are suppose to have a little one, but mine is alot bigger than it is suppose to be). I was wondering what the fluid they use in it is and where i could get some to fill it up more?? I tried looking for CHM's webpage but i didn't have any sucess. Thanks

Liquid filled gauges are usually a glycerine & distilled water mixture. As for the fluid level it doesn't matter to much till you get around less then 3/4's full. The liquid is in there for environments where vibration is present, the liquid helps to prevent mechanical wear on the gauge & in turn makes the pointer more stable. As long as the gauge is about 3/4's full it will be covering most or all of the movement & be fine. I would doubt most automotive places/manufacturers would carry it, best bet is a industril supply company that sells liquid filled gauges, they may have some if they fill the gauges themselves.

so do you think i could get away with adding alittle distilled water untill i can't see the air bubble when the guage is placed how its going to sit?

Just goto a RC hobby store and buy some shock oil . only downside is sometimes it comes in different colors according to vicosity ( sp ) .

just visually , match the thickness with the bottles in the store.
