2g gsx turbo

Hi,
I know that this is a hard question and a general question to answer. What is a better turbo for a 97-99 gsx a Garret T3/T4 or a Garret Big T28 Killer? Which can hold more boost and horsepower and how much boost and horsepower can they hold?

You cannot really say what is a better turbo. It all depends on what you want for your car. a t3/t4 is gonna give you lots of power in the top end while the killer (I have one) gets full spool at 2800rpms. They are in different "classes" of turbos. For a GSX you're going to want a quick spooling turbo becasue you will have no problem with traction, while a FWD eclipse will probably want a top end turbo so they wont spin their tires when it spools up.

Also the big28 killer is not a garrett turbo. It is a mitsu/garret hybrid. It uses a Big16g compressor wheel in a AIResearch T-3 comp housing with a t-28 hot side (Garrett). Check out the thread. It's called "Big28 killer installed". Currently i am the only person if im not mistaken, to take it to the track. But i did on a slipping clutch, so i only got a 14.06 but it was at 105 mph. That trap speed should be good for low 13s and my car is no where near tuned yet.

t3/t4 refers to about 50 different turbos. There are all sorts of wheels and trims. They will support anywhere from 300 to 600hp depending on the size.

I would personally rather run a 14b than the big28 killer collage of miscellaneous turbo parts. At leats until someone with one runs better than the 109 I got with it on my 2g. 100 bucks used, 200 for kit. Just my 2 cents. Keep us updated when you get that clutch fixed...
