Alright.. I just received my new DNP manifold and SLS o2 housing, however I have a slight fitting problem.

The DNP manifold moves to a slightly different angle, and the o2 housing mounts the o2 sensor at a slightly different angle.. and the result is my o2 sensor touching a 2" water pipe and the turbo still isn't all the way mounted.

What I need is to find an o2 sensor that is 2" in length not including the threads. So, basically once it's tightened into the o2 housing I need at most 2" of o2 sensor sticking out.

I looked at a lot of places and it really looks to me like they are all about the same exact length, unfortunately. I am hoping someone out there has seen or has a good idea of where I could find such a thing.

Which one are you using. The Mits OEM one should be fine, and if not - check out a Bosch o2 sensor. They are standard Mitsubishi 4 wire.

Send back the O2 housing and request one that has the O2 bung in a better (read correct) location. The DNP manifold mounts the turbo in the stock position so it's not the DNP's fault, oh and don't feel too bad you're not the only one this has happened to.

Clicky.

For those that don't have an account on galantvr4.org...

so I called them up 2 weeks ago and asked them if they had an o2 housing in stock for my car. They said yes, so I asked if that would ship the same day and they said yes (I was kinda in a hurry). So I gave them my payment info and they took my e-mail address and said they would e-mail me with a tracking number. A few days went by and I didn't get a tracking number. No big deal, I called them later that week and talked so someone and they gave me a tracking number and said it should be here by Tuesday...6 business days from when I had ordered it (UPS shipping would have been no more than 4 days). So that meant I would miss the deadline I was planning on, but oh well, it is what it is. Tuesday comes and goes and still no housing. Looked up the tracking number, and UPS.com said it wasn't a valid number. So I try calling them again, and no answer. Send them an e-mail, and they reply 2 days later saying that it would be here Friday, or Monday (today) at the latest. Well it did show up today...finally with a 2nd day air sticker on it. So much for same day shipping. I go to install it and guess what? It doesn't fit. The O2 sensor hits the water pipe on the side of the engine. The dip-stick also needed to be bent to get it on, but compared to the O2 sensor, that's no big deal. Now it's 2 weeks since I ordered the thing, and I have call them, ship it back, and hopefully get another one before the week is up. THIS IS CRAP!!! If I had known it was going to be like this, I would have just bought a ported 2G housing or something.

Too bad too, they look really nice.

Thanks for finding that post, I looked and didn't see anything.

Unfortunately, I can't find any other companies that make an o2 housing that recirculates an external waste gate that's why I chose them. What I ended up doing is taking it somewhere to get another bung welded. DNP claims to put it in the stock location but it's slightly off, and SLS claims to put theirs at stock location, but it's also slightly off.. so two slightly's added together equals me getting screwed. Anyway, I was too hasty in marking where I wanted my bung, and I put it in another bad spot touching the oil cooler feed off of the same water pipe that gave me the problem in the first place. After I got everything together the line busted and antifreeze went EVERYWHERE. Turned the car off, took a deep breath and started again the next day.

Next day, I went from under the car and used a pry bar to, against all will, bend the oil cooler feed up just a tad away from the o2 sensor. I was able to slide on a hose without any issues so I believe it's not rubbing anymore. I put everything back together and so far I haven't had any problems.

I think both companies did a great job, yeah they could of put the o2 sensor in a better spot. I won't ever be able to accurately read my oil level anymore because I had to move that as well.

You can't expect two custom companies to work perfectly together, however.. SLS's o2 sensor housing put it in a RIDICULOUS spot, I think if I had the stock manifold it would still be in the water pipe, heh.

Oh, and if anyone finds a shorter o2 sensor I'd still like to know immediately.
