I want to know if I can hook my front mount in line of my sidemount and connect the two together...is this possible if so what sorta gains or weaknesses would I be looking at?

thanks

Sure you can have dual intercoolers but you probably won't see much gain in power. There would be 2 flow restrictions (2 intercooler cores) instead of one.

well i haven't hooked my fmic up yet but it's mounted to the front...i was just thinking I could get the pipes custom made to connect the two...but yeah that does sound like some bad restrictions.

One of the major advantages of going with an aftermarket intercooler is getting rid of the pressure drop the stocker has. A double core setup is not at all worth while in my opinion.

Dual intercooler can be useful or used on v configuration motors since each half of the motor can have its own intercooler.

Intercoolers are a pretty big flow restriction. They are used because the gain in power from reduced intake temperatures is greater than the pressure drop that the intercooler causes. There's also a balance between how dense the fins are inside the intercooler which changes how well it cools and what kind of pressure drop results.
