This started happening after they did a motor rebuild and I got it back from the shop every so often the car will throw a cell I took it to one of the auto parts stores and they told me something like low fuel pump level or something like that and told me I would have to contact the dealer for that, another one told me it was the fuel pump going bad so I replaced it with a walboro 255, when the cell is on the mechanic explained that it keeps the fuel circuit open and it wastes more gas than usual while the cell is on has anyone ever experienced this problem and can help me correct it. Also I took it to a tuning shop and they told me it was my afcII and made a couple of changes and that did not work the cell came back on. After I clear the code it doesn’t come back for another full tank of gas and it always happens above 40 mile per hour while I’m cruising all help would be greatly appreciated thanks

Just so you know, it's CEL, not cell. CEL stands for Check Engine Light. :thumb:

Next time it happens, please post the code number that you are given. It should be something like "P0170 Fuel Trim Malfunction, Bank 1". <---Just an example.

Ill go today and get the actual code since it just came on again LOL (cel vs cell) ooops ROFL

yup is the exact one as above ^^^^^ actual code p0170 fuel trim malfunction bank1 and no faults detected what does this mean and how do I fix this?????

Sounds like it's time for a basic tune.

Fuel Trim Malfunction = the fuel trim(s) (either low trim or mid trim) has/have gone to the max tolerance and still can't get the car into an acceptable range.

You have a tolerance built into the ECU so under different situations the ECU can "adjust" the fuel trim to suit. If you stay at a max tolerance range for a certain period of time (I don't know length), it will throw a CEL.

Turn the logger on at the "next full tank" and see what it looks like.

well unfortunatelly I dont have a logger but I will be getting everithing I need to be able to tune including the injectors and my FPR installed so I def look into it
