Diamondhead,
OK, here is the deal. I have slowly been rebuilding a 95 GST that I got a killer deal on. I have the motor done, I have the tranny also. The motor is 6 bolt with Eagle rods, Wiseco pistons, Knife-Edge Crank, ARP everywhere downstairs. The head is ported with the Web spring and retainer kit, Web 452/228 cams, standard size swirl polished valves.

The car is going to be a highway driver. I am really leaning toward a 20g turbo. I have not bought any exhaust for the car yet. I was looking at the Apexi products for that. I have been looking at the N1 downpipe. I understand that it is 60mm at the front going to 80mm after the flex. What is this size? LOL sorry, dont know the conversion. Is this big enough up front for a 20g?

Any input is greatly appreciated.....

Thats good enogh size, becuase it will give pressure to the turbo, beside the apexi n1 is the best flowing pipes there right now.

60mm = 2.36 inches. Kinda small IMHO. That's about the same size as a cheap pressbent 2.5 downipe at the bend. Even the EVO III O2 sensor housing is a full 2.5 inches (63.5 mm). With porting they get over 2.6" wide. It's not good for exhaust flow to go from bigger to smaller. When it comes to exhaust flow after the turbo, bigger is better. The Apex N1 catback is big and flows very well, but that dp sounds kinda weak. FYI, one inch = 25.4 mm. you can do a quick conversion in your head if you round off to 25 mm, so 2"= 50mm, 3"= 75mm, 4"=100mm, etc.

You spent money or forged internals, get a turbo that requires them, a 20g dosen't even break stock #@%#@%#@%#@%. I say go with a 7 cm Red or a l3R, something along those lines. Then get a 3 inch O2 sensor housing and downpipe. Try www.rnrracing.com, say Sean referred you.

First. Thanks for the site and the hook up on the exhaust. I hope to place my order next week for it.

Part of the reason I have done the forged internals is that I am going to be running a NX direct port spary on the car.

I know of the Red turbo. Where can I educate myself on this L3R turbo?

Thanks
