I just finished installing some Holley 680cc injectors (modified for use with the stock fuel rail) in my 1997 Talon TSi AWD. I also installed a Walbro 255 pump and a Charged Air Systems AFPR.

I have DSMLink V2 and I set the global fuel compensation to 34% and deadtime to 195 to get it started. Invert CAS was selected.

The car will start, try to fire and die. I tried various settings and none would get it to run.

After checking everything, I have spark, pump stays on, all the injectors are on still nothing.

I set the fuel comp to 0% and deadtime to 0 and it fired right up and idled, but pretty rough and after a bit it died.

I just checked my wideband when it idled long enough for the heater to warm up and my wideband A/F was 20:1-22:1, I am obviously not getting enough fuel, but why?

Any ideas or suggestions would be appreciated.

Thanks,

-Travis

Sorry but have you checked the simple stuff like maybe you don't have your spark plugs hooked up correctly. If that's good, I'm not sure why you have your CAS inverted. I think that's for when you have a 1g CAS hooked up in a 95-96 motor. I don't believe you need that for your setup.

Update:

AFPR is set up right, 43lbs. I swapped a set of blue top 450cc injectors in, and it started right up, so that rules out the pump and AFPR. Now why would the 680cc Holley injectors not work???

Inverted CAS needs to be used when a '95EPROM ecu is used in a '97, I have always ran it this way, you need to swap the plug wires too.

Any thoughts on why the 680cc injectors don't work?

Thanks!

Are you sure they're low impedance injectors? Try measuring the impedance with a multimeter and see what it is.

I am starting to think they are not. They were used in a 1G DSM... I will go out and check them.

CanadianTSi: That is what I thought....

I measured the impedance of the Holley injectors, which were all 12.2 Ohms.

The blue top 450cc injectors were 2.4 Ohms.

12.2 does not sound high, but what is the normal range for a high impedence injector? The part number lists as a low impedence injector.

I did get it to idle, but I the global fuel compensation was at 0 and deadtime was 180. The A/F was 17-18:1 and I could not get it any richer...
If I tried to adjust the global fuel compensation it would go way lean and die...

Are the PTE injectors any good?

Well, 1g NTs are high impedance.

Turbo DSM injectors see 3-4 ohms, while NTs see ~12. Just like you said. So when your injectors are seeing turbo dsm ohm #'s, they're high impedance, so waiting for more ohms that they'll never see. It just won't work.

PTEs are fine.

Stapl3: Thanks, it looks like they are the wrong type. Now I am out looking for another set...

Thanks!
