My motor seized, but i have an extra block, and i'm on a very tight budget, i'm here to ask questions about products (i.e. if you have them give me some pros and cons about them), these are the products i wanna get:

Balance shaft removal kit
Eagle Rods
9.0:1 (JE or Ross (which do you prefer))
B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
660 cc Injectors by RC or RRE
APEX'i S-AFC and A/F Gauge and vent pod for 1g
Either 264* or 272* intake and exhaust cams by HKS
Knifed Crankshaft

I already have:
Big 16G
Greddy BOV
FMIC with hard pipe (3" from turbo to IC, 2.5" from IC to TB)
HKS UICP
HKS throttle body elbow 2.5"
HKS Super Flow Intake

If you have any suggestions on these products it would greatly be appreciated, I eventually want to meet 400 hp, but i'll have to switch out turbochargers and other things, but for know i'm going for 300-350 hp.
Thanks, Chris

I would highyl suggest the BS removal to everyone that has the chance. I think that with a goal of 400hp that some stock rods and 2g pistons would be very efficient and a bit more daily driveable then a forged setup with a knifed crank ( which I wouldnt ever do for a daily driver). I have 1g big rods with ross 9:1 pistons, but wouldt recommend it for an overall goal with ony 400hp. A stock motor can handle that easily. All these people that say that these motors can handle that kind of power arent lying. 400hp should be reliable for some 2g pistons, which willl also suit your budget better. Everything else looks good :thumb:

When you say you have the 1g big rods, are you replying to it that you have the stock 1g rod? and how much did you buy the ross pistons for?

I wouldnt recomend JE pistons they are not all that great they expand and contract in cold and warm condition causing some slap my buddy got some in his Integ and when he cranks that thing up in the morning you can hear it big time.

Just my .02 some one correct me if Im wrong or enlighten me with your better knowledge :)

Thanks everyone for the advice, i hope everything goes smoothly and easy, but i'll have doing it. thanks again chris

Balance shaft removal kit
Yes Definately

Eagle Rods
Good rods... but 1g big rods (6bolt 90-91) will take you well into 500hp

9.0:1 (JE or Ross (which do you prefer))
Ross by a long shot... but then again 2g pistons will take you into the 450-500hp range w/ o much problem

B&M Fuel Pressure Regulator
These are pretty worthless on a DSM since you can only raise the FP. You'd be better off w/ a SX or Aeromotive setup that you can lower the fuel pressure with.

660 cc Injectors by RC or RRE
550s are more than enough for 16g & 20g sized turbos. 660s will only make you run rich & you won't be able to lean things out enough on race gas to make the HP to run good times.

APEX'i S-AFC and A/F Gauge and vent pod for 1g
A/F gauge is pretty much worthless blinky light show. Better off w/ an EGT gauge & just run the blue wire mod for the O2 voltages. Or get a datalogger & EGT gauge.

Either 264* or 272* intake and exhaust cams by HKS
Cams not needed for 16g either. Cams won't kick in till the 16g runs out of steam. I actually tried this myself & went back to the stockers & ran faster.

Knifed Crankshaft
Definately not needed on a street motor. Won't notice the gains. Will also make the car harder to launch due to less rotational weight. You'd prolly get the same weight reduction by going to a SSG or Fidanza aluminum flywheel.

I already have:
Big 16G
Greddy BOV
FMIC with hard pipe (3" from turbo to IC, 2.5" from IC to TB)
Might want to make that lower IC pipe smaller... You'll be slowing the air down too much before it reaches the IC. Alot of the fast guys run 3" upper pipes w/ 2.5" lower piping w/ great results... but that's also w/ very large turbos (not a 16g).

HKS UICP
HKS throttle body elbow 2.5"
HKS Super Flow Intake
