so i drove through this puddle maybe 6-8 inches deep (didnt realize that), car starts shuddering and making a loud ticking/knocking sound (sort of like my usual valve tick, but more prenounced and the car shakes). I discovered my power steering/alt belt had slipped off, so i got that back on hoping to fix the problem. no dice, car is still doing it. The only thing is that the noise/shuddering stops when im in the middle of a left turn, but when the car is stationary it still acts weird. I checked the spark plugs for water and found none. Thoughts?

Most likely you got water into your engine via the intake *Pending if you have an aftermarket intake.* If so: Take the filter off and let it dry up. The other problem sounds familiar, but I'm not gonna say as I'm not 100% sure.

i do, i have an injen pipe and a k&n filter. will try to dry the filter now.

I agree with defiant on this one. Have you looked at the crank pulley while the car was running? If it slipped, moved, ect. then the pullley will show a wobble, which if it did start to wobble, kicked the other belts off.

so I put the filter back on this morning and it fixed the problem. excellent. thanks for the input guys.
