ive been looking for an exhaust for my car. and i know there are many out there. but many eclipse pages i see use the the apexi n1. i found one too for a good price ($469.00) at

but as of course im sure evreyone know it is only a "partial 3in exhaust" ive read some of the forums reviews on why some people didnt like it but then why do so many people have it. they always say they love it and its great. i mean why would apexi use their design if it wasnt goin to help performance. is there any "major" performance differ between an n1 and a custom 3in. thanks.

) what's funny is that they screwed up on my order and gave me the gt downpipe(stainless steel) when I ordered the n1 downpipe. The one question I have is the for some odd reason when it's cold outside(like in the morning or at night) after my car warms up, when the RPMs go down to about 1200 there's this loud chatter like it's tapping the rear member or something. I tried to re-fit everything, but it still persists. Does n e 1 know if there is like an exhaust wrap or something I could put between the exhaust and the member?
Hopefully its not more than $30.
It is a full 3" inside diameter all the way through, muffler and all. It does, however, take some modification in order to bolt to the N1 downpipe. I had to cut off about 3 5/8" from the Thermal pipe mostly what was the flare and flange to fit the stock cat. From there I had to make a flange to bolt to the N1 downpipe. Took about 4 hours including fabrication of a flange and an hour die grinding the hole big enought to fit over the Thermal Exhaust. (Only had a 2 3/4" hole saw)
