I installed the Injen air intake system on my friends 1998 GST and he says that there is some stumbling when shifting. Was I supposed to reset the ECU, or will this cause more problems? He also tells me that it is really loud compared to the stock one and that the BOV (stock) does not wistle any more it just sounds like a wuuuussshhh of air, is that normal also? Thanks inadvance for your help.

Well, did he make sure that he got the intake pipe with the dump tube? If he is venting that BOV to the atmosphere, then that will cause the car the run rich and stumble.... as far as the sound, yeah, it should sound more like a wushhh then a whistle... the stock dump tube was shaped to sound like that (to make it quieter)... and yes, it should be a LOT louder ... personally, I LOVE the sound! :) You can hear the turbo spool, etc... sweeeeeet... anyway, hope that helped!

Yeah he got the one with the dump tube and all of the hoses are tight. I like the sound also I just needed people to back me up that it is supposed to sound like that. Will he get the wistle that he wants with the greddy type-S BOV dumping into the intake?

the greddy bov recirculated sounds like its pushing air....(wuuuussshhh)... mine never really whistled.... when i had it dump to the atm it sounded like glass breaking, when i shifted or reved.... and at the time the only mods i had was injen intake, stock turbo, greddy upper i/c piping, RRE 3" downpipe, Apexi WS cat back exhst.

I am to put on my Injen Intake next week and its a one that routs back to the tube and all...will the tube affect the sound as much as stated above? It will make the BOV sound different and make the whole intake sound a little more noticeable?
I am not after sounds ..just curious what to expect.
I am also putting on an aftermarket BOV ...not a brand you heard of though..*S*..its made here in Sweden by tuningcompany that does a lot of tuningparts...hold up to 3,0Bar=44PSI if I am correct in numbers (1bar=1,47psi?)Comes cheap and looks good..will let ya know how it works out later and show pics too....get it new for 125 so..good deal:)
