i want to beat my friends car

ok well i wanna beat my friends car he has a 94 cobra mustang 275hp and about 300 pounds of tourque what mods would a 2g gsx or tsi awd to beat it. and how much money would the mods cost. am i better of spending 17g on a trans am.

well concidering your stock now way but look into doing all the Free mods you can and turn your boost up .....from there you could be close to beating him or scare him.

if i can beat one with a T-25 then you shoul be able to walk him with your 14b. intake, a good full exhuast system, MBC, and gauge should get you really close to him.

first of all... for a DSM.... a COBRA ain't #@%#@%#@%#@%! i have a 98 AWD tsi with intake, exaust, 15psi, stock turbo, no cat and i walked a 98 cobra with a 5speed bye 1 car all the way to 120mph. SO... no problem... ford makes shitty cars!!!

^ that happened to me a few days ago!!!!!! he didn't smoke me to badly though, when we got to his house he showed me wut the car has run on slicks (low 11's). i don't feel to bad about it now though and thank god for tractionless street tires .

great huskie- I don't know if you own a mustang cobra and are ashaimed of it because you know how #@%#@%#@%#@%ing slow it is or what! i've been to the track and seen the new 390 cobra's ( blown) run a 14.1 with slicks!!!!! you think that is good??? your #@%#@%#@%#@%ing nutz! i don't know where you live... you gotta be a ford fan... only those people are stupid enough to think they have a fast car!!!!! i raced a 390 cobra ( 2003 ) from a 10mph roll and he only beat me by 1 1/2 cars!!!! that is soooo shitty! i have a 2.0L engine, they have a V8 with a roots blower..... they technically should walk anything... BUT THEY DON'T!

A stock 03 Cobra will romp you, #@%#@%#@%#@% a kid here with a 99 Cobra with bolt-ons would walk you. Can you say 12.5@110?

Or a 150k+ miled Fox Body with a 50shot, and exhaust, that went 13.0@106 with Nitrous problems..

He'd walk you too...

Not to mention the more heavily modded stangs running in the 11's and 10's...

Your 2.0L has nothing for most of them.

dude.... you can tell me all you want about times of different cars. really it doesn't bother me!!!! and i don't hate domestic cars or anything. my friend drives a 89 iroc-z.... really nice car and all!!! back to the topic. there is a punk ass kid that drives a 98 cobra with a vortech supercharger on it with an H pipe and BBK intake and dumped exhaus.. he ran a 13.7! and that is killing me????? i have never taken my car down the strip... but i guarantee that i could pull off atleast that with my mods. If your interested in hearing what i have i would be glad to share!!!!! to me all that " V8 power " aint #@%#@%#@%#@% especially with a blower on top of it! you really think a 13.7 for a blown cobra is good??? i feel sorry for you!! and by the way im not cocky about my ride..... there is a lot out there that can walk it! i will be the first to admit that, i just don't think that mustangs deserve all that much respect! i heard that the average mustang ( all v8's ) ran a 14.1..... my friends 2002 camaro Z28 automatic ran a 13.4@106mph with only a lid! that's faster than the blown one...... all you ford guys please tell me why!!!

I have never seen a 03 cobra run less then 13.2 on street tires, with a pulley change and slicks most are close to low 12 or high 11's.

Also while we are nameing stangs that will beat yours, I will add mine to the list. She runs mid 11's @118. I agree that you could have beaten a 98 cobra. Those cars are high revving cars and most people CANNOT drive them that are used to driving a 5.0 mustang. But with gears and slicks they are VERY capable machines in the right hands.

Do your research before you talk trash! I used to own a 98 cobra and I personally pushed it to a 13.9 at 101.7 in stock trim on street tires. That punk ass kid you are talking about just can't drive. Get behind the wheel and I gaurantee you will eat your words. And I'm out

I have yet seen a mustang hook up good on there road even with slicks.
Now about the 2003 i have heard some storys about them runing fast off the lot i just sure hope they dont do what they did last time wich was saying how fast there cobra was and they had the wrong heads on them and the stock GTs would woop them . I hopeing to run into a new 2003 with a young person in it =0) liveing in fla where all these old guys drive there stangs to the golf course and they wont race me =(
So i would like to see how bad he could beat me or how bad them tires will spin.

the 2003 svt cobra was recalled due to something shitty going on them, just like the 2000 cobras were recalled because, they were making WAY less than the advertised 305hp. it would NEVER surprise me to hear someone getting ripped off by ford. got to www.blueovalnews.com to get the low down on all their dirty deeds taken out on who else, the consumer, from recycling junk yard parts as new to the ford EXPLODER to the mustang power recall, they have it all. i have killed so many cobras and camaro ss' , even blown ls1 firechikens from ther standstill and then they still dont gain after 125+mph, its sad. i watch them all day at the track...most never will break a 13.9x.

insane147..... see that is what i am talking about. i really think that the new cobras are nice cars. but to see them not perform as well as they should disapoints me! i know there are a lot of V8's out there that destroy cars like mine, but when you go to the track or when you cruise WOODWARD ( a really hot road in Michigan ) and all you see is mustangs, camaros, and trans-ams there! i have ran in to so many races it's not funny!!! Those cars NEED a GREAT driver to perform as well as they are said to! launch is everything for the most part( atleast on the street ).... i have taken modded cobras, trans-ams, camaros all the way to 100mph before they start to pull on me... and i am talking about being in front of them by like 2 cars! NOW i doubt my car is a freak car or something like that... or maybe i just have the right mods... but it has happened!!!! anyway, not trying to make enemies... but i am telling the truth..... sorry for the nock on the mustangs.. they are nice cars!!! just need a good driver that's all
