Would it be better to paint IC pipes with header paint? You know the paint that keeps heat in. I'm guessing if it will keep the heat in, it will also keep the heat out. Like engine heat. I have a spare can of DEI high temp silicone coating. And I need to paint my IC pipes. Would it help any at all. Or should I just paint it with regular 500* paint?

The DEI paint doesn't have any insulating properties worth mentioning, it just sticks to their header bandage to stop it from fraying (and to help keep water out, which is why I use it).

As for engine heat; don't worry about it for the few poofteenths of a second that your intake air is in contact with the piping. You want to spend more time worrying about not sucking hot engine compartment air into your intake.
