I'm getting a new Koyo radiator and EvoIII 16g, and I was wondering if I can still use the stock fans with this setup. Will the J-pipe clear the fans since the radiator will push the fans closer to the J-pipe? Will I need to trim the fans? Or should I just replace the fans with slimmer ones.

I'm not sure about that radiator but I used stock fans with my EVOIII 16G but I've read where some have had to trim the fan some. My guess would be it depends on who made the j-pipe, mine came from slowboy

If the new rad sits closer to the turbo compared to the stock unit, you will more then likely have to do some trimming, or get slim fans. With my stock fans/rad and a jpipe from RRE I had maybe 1/4" clearance between the pipe and the fan motor. I trimmed a semi circle shape out of that area just to allow a little clearance because of motor torque. I guess each jpipe might be designed slightly different so I guess you will have to wait and see.

Sounds like I need to get some new fans. I've seen a SBR J-pipe on a 2g and it comes within centimeters of the stock fan. The Koyo radiator is a good .5" wider then the stock unit. I don't think there's anyway around it.
