I am doing the 6 bolt swap in my 2g and tried putting my stock 7 bolt's oil filter housing on it but the bolts didn't line up. At our local pick-n-pull junkyard they have many 1g's but they are mainly n/t. Will an oil cooler and oil filter housing off a 6 bolt nt work on a 6 bolt that's turbo. Are there any drawbacks? Also, I am talking about the water-cooled oil cooler, not the air-cooled. Thanks.

Could I take a nt 6 bolt oil filter housing and put my 7 bolt turbo oil cooler on it?

Best way to do this is to is to pick up a 90 style oil filter housing and an exturnal cooler.

Housing will run you about $70 dollars new.
