Who has heard of an intake manifold warping?

The results of my last boost leak test show that I have massive air coming out of the IM. If I shove my arm under there I can feel the air blowing on my arm. I just replaced the gasket on it about a month ago.
I think the manifold may not be flush against the head in some spots. becasue the air doesn't come out of the manifold in every spot. I'm thinking about buying another manifold just to be safe. I just want some opinions at this point.

Thanks,

I've never heard of one warping but I guess its a possibility. Replacing the intake manifold would be what I would do tho.

I'm not sure it's the head. That's why i wanted to get opionons on it. I figure I will get another manifold becasue that's cheap and I can have it on hand when I pull the car apart since downtime has to be at a minumum.

That's a good idea. I can't thing of conditions that would cause manifold warp, but not the head. (I've always thought the head is first to go in these situations.

Where do you feel air sipping through, at the bottom or the top of the flange ?

Once I ran into the same problem, but it turned out to be faulty gasket. It had some sort of crap embedded to the surface, which didn't allow for a perfect mating.

That coulg be the problem which is why I'm going to pull it off, get a new gasket and clean everything completley.

Yea, a SUPER CLEAN surface might help. There might be some particles of the old gasket still stuck on the IM or head itself. Scraping it with a screwdriver won't cut it. Try a light sanding to get all the old residue off.
