my friend has a 98 gsx and just got this awesome frontmount 2.5" piping and a brand new 60 trim with 760cc greddy injectors and a wideband setup w datalogger a super nice intake setup for the turbo and a greddy bov, a black safcII and an apexi boost gauge, a MAFT also a ported o2 house and a 3inch dp to a 3" electric cut-out..... this is on a pretty stock 7bolt (the boost hit 15psi)

i was like that is tight lets go for a quick ride... i jump in and i was like dont kill us haha
and we get on it down the road and it was not any faster than his t25 :notgood: and so i was like man you have to get some engine managment and get this thing on a dyno and he kinda shrugged about it. but i definatly realized my 6bolt 14b tuned would smoke his 60 trim haha. :thumb: ROFL

i think he might be waiting for cams then tuning, or maybe just not tuning at all, however its a shame to have that much power potential and not use it. grr LOL :spam:

i dont think he really is that experienced yet....

i should talk him into dsmlink and hookin my laptop up ;)

If he's not experienced, why don't you give him a hand? DSMLink would be the way to go but he's got all the tools to get the thing running decently.

Actually I see you listed 760 cc injectors, he's going to need to get something other then the safc to control them properly (end up with way to much timing because of how much compensation those injectors need).

The Lm1 Wideband = Bliss for tuning. My car in 3 runs with the LM1 and then making the right changes got my car faster then it ever would have been on the logger. The wideband makes all the world of differance and IMO was worth every penny spent. Its a fantastic tuning aid and made a night and day differance with my car, and its fast 3 runs done and tuned.

I've also heard nothing but good from the Lm1 Wideband

hellotbone you wouldn't by any chance have a link to the Lm1 Wideband would you? Thanks!

I'll second that except I use a plx m-300. After using it, I don't know how I tuned at all before getting the wideband.

i know there is not enough time in the day to tell me everything you have to do to use a wideband. but can you tell me the first steps you take? i know you hook it up instead of the o2 sensor, right? then what do you tune for? i use a logger and maft to tune. would like one more tool though.
thanks

I should have Vfaqd this I will try to get one up soon I have the pics.

Link to the unit http://www.innovatemotorsports.com/products/lm1.php

What is involved. You need to drill your downpipe and weld the 02 sensor bung in it and then install the sensor. Run the wire harness to it one plug. Next plug it into the unit. The unit comes with a cigarette lighter adapter you can either plug it in or hard wire it. Cut the plug off to hard wire it and I just wired it internally to my cigarette lighter. So now you have a working WB. The next thing you need is the tach adapter its useless without it because you don't know what RPM to make changes. Its a simple one wire install plug the adapter into the unit and run a wire to the input for RPM from the white wire in your transistor pack. Now you are ready or are you :sneaky:

Follow the units directions for calibrations etc. Now start the car and go for a drive when ready hit record and give it a pull in 3rd when able stop it. Now take the unit out of your car I found the glovebox perfect for it. Go inside and hook it your computer and analyze the run with the software from innovative site. Make the necessary changes based on the log. Its very simple and a laptop in the car makes it a 10 min job to have a really close tune.

thats the wideband my buddy has the innovate lm1

his family kinda has a little bit of $$$ so he gets whatever the best is of what he wants. my 14b 6bolt would still eat him tho :p

Then he probably shouldnt be getting DSMlink then. Link is very easy, but if you don't have a basic understanding of what is going on, let alone what these mods do to when upgrading, then its pointless to get link..... aside from the fact that the stutterbox option is uber-cool.

Holy quadruple post batman! :sneaky:

i have lm1 but i dont know how to hook up rpm wire to it. do you have diagram
thank s

Hell I have all those things a understanding of what my mods do and a basic understanding of what the link does actually probably better than just basic and i'm still gonna get the parts installed and take it to this shop around me and let this tuning guru around me make my car run 11's. Pride is not even a factor. I'll tell ppl straight up I got all the right parts did the reasearch and then let a pro do the rest. I'm a do it yourself guy but not when doing it yourself could damage over 5k worth of parts what not.

I second that. :talon:

Plug the RPM adaptor into the LM1 Run a wire from your transistor pack or ignitor pack which ever you want to call it. There is a wire in the middle of it its white. Tap it and run to the LM1's RPM adaptor input.
