I'm begining to dislike the fact I bought a Apexi N1 catback exhaust. I bought it because at the time I wanted to be able to bolt it up to my stock cat with the provided adaptor and that I could remove the adaptor and be able to bolt up a 3 inch downpipe later. Now that I'm ready to buy a 3" downpipe and O2 housing I'm not to happy with my options.

When I purchased the N1 catback I was content with reading that apexi had a 3" DP that would bolt up to the N1 catback and I never looked into it further. Now that I'm looking at it Apexi doesn't offer me many options (or at least from what I can see).

Apexi's downpipes for 95-99 2G AWD:
N1/GT spec 145-KM01 link
N1 (heavier I think discontinued) 147-KM01 link

OK... My problem is that since I need to have a cat and I want a FULL 3 inch not after the flex section. If I settle for the after flex section I could go with the 145-KM01 but I still don't know what cat to use that will mate with the N1 catback with the adaptor removed (I might brake down and end up doing this so if anyone has experence with this give me a part # for a cat that will work). If I don't settle and I want a full 3" DP with a hi flow 3" cat to go with the 3" outlet o2 housing (link) what should I use? Part numbers and brand names please.

I know some might flame me asking "why do I need full 3" and what are my end goals?" and "Do you want to go over 400HP?" etc, however, I just want my spool as fast as possible when its all said and done and if I'm upgrading a system I might as well do it as good as possible. Given if I upgrade my fuel system more next I'm not going to go with 1600cc just yet... LOL

Oh and yes Defiant I used the search button with many different keywords, advanced search features, etc. OMG :thumb: But I didn't not find a specific answer to my question and I haven't had much luck with emailing manufacturers/resellers.

get a 3" high flow cat without flanges. about $50 at Summit Racing

chop off a section of the downpipe and replace it with the cat

weld the pieces together or use clamps, making sure you measure everything so you have the proper length
