AFPR... What do u guys think??

If that regulator is decent it looks pretty good those are all D.O.T fittings and are high quality so you shouldn't have a leakage problem.

the aeromotive regulator is a pretty good unit and a true 1:1 riser. What else could u want. :)

I didn't notice it was Aeromotive, when I read the description I skimmed it This is lowest priced FPR kit that uses a high end FPR like the Aeromotive brand name. The "Like" threw me off like the ebay greddy "style" etc...

Looks good man do it up.

cool thanks guys.... how long and how hard do you think that it will take to install????

If you're concerned with install time and difficulty, why not go with the FTS FPR on the same website, $155 for a direct bolt-on afpr?

If the pic is correct, that is an aeromotive fpr but its not the one that most people use. It has npt ports instead of -an & it doen't look like it has a guage port so you will need to tap somewhere else for your fuel pressure. It's cheeper then other kits because the regulator & fittings are cheeper then what the other kits use. Brass npt push lock fittings are way cheeper the -an aluminum ones. It looks like it flow slightly less then the std aeromotive 13109 but should still be more then enough. Just make sure you get the correct spring because this reg. can also be use in carburated cars. The reg that comes with that kit can be seen here:

I run the FTS bolt on unit and it has worked great thus far. It took me about 30 mins. to do the complete install, as it was direct bolt on and I didn't have to modify anything. It works great and fixed my over-run I had with the stocker and the Walbro 255 One bad thing is that the adapter plate for the fuel rail blocked the first coil for the plug wires and I had to switch from my magnecores back to stock, because the stockers were smaller and could fit in there. Some simple grinding of the plate would solve this, maybe I'll do that someday. As for the gauge port, if it doesn't come with one just tap into the top of the fuel filter, this is the recommended place to measure fuel pressure anyways.

" 3. This FPR has extra ports that can be used as inlet or outlet ports which can be used for a gauge, nitrous feed, fuel pressure sending unit to an in dash gauge, etc. "

That is taken straight off of the link. :thumb:

great well i think im going to be ordering this one right now!!
thanks for the help guys!

Sorry, know this is a little late, but I have that same kit on my car and it is awesome. Took care of the overflow problem and that has to be one of the best fpr's made. It is also a piece of cake to install without having to use stainless lines and I haven't had any problems with leaks.

Thanks for the comments about our IE-FPR kit. We've had really good feedback on the kits from people that have purchased and installed them.

You don't have to worry about selecting a spring , the correct one is in the kit. Gauge port fitting is included and can be ran right of the regulator.

ImportEvolution, any discount for being a DSMtuners member? :thumb: Just wondering and I'm sure future buyers also want to know.

edit: for those of you who are thinking of buying IE FPR kit and a walbro fuel pump you should check this link
Looks like a good deal!

I'm trying to get most of my support mods before I start shopping for a turbo upgrade. Anyone see anything else I need that is necessary for my fuel mods? I'll most likely be getting the IE FPR kit, walbro 255lph hp fuel pump, and a fuel pressure gauge. I already have Denso 660cc injectors.

Ryan - I noticed you guys use the Aeromotive #13301 regulator with your kit instead of the #13109 regulator that most other kits use. After the spring is installed, does that reg. work just the same as the 13109? What prompted you guys to use the 13301 instead? I am just curious. Thanks. :thumb:

You need someway of controlling the fuel. I don't know if you just forgot to add that or what, but you are going to need at least an AFC. If you have the money, I would go DSM LINK. I regret not going ahead and doing that. I am seriously considering swapping to it very soon.

Right now I'm using the maf translator to adjust for the bigger injectors and using pocketlogger to monitor the car's stats. When I get more money I'll look for dsmlink and eprom ecu.

You seem to be good to go then, I would just suggest that you buy something that controls fuel a little better than the translator. My buddy has the same set-up that you do on his 97 talon and it just seems like you can't get it just right. I can dial mine in with the AFC across the rpm range and his seems kind of a general tune with the translator. I am not saying that you shouldn't stick with that, he made 315 whp and 343 wtq with that set-up, so it can't be that bad.

Yea, I know. I stated previously that I'm saving up for dsmlink and the eprom ecu. Hopefully I can find a deal in the future. Anyone else installed Import Evolution's FPR kit in their DSM and would like to comment?

eclipseGSTud, sorry at this time the IE-FPR has been priced for dsm'ers already. Although you will qualify for a free Import dvd with an IE-fpr purchase . http://www.importevolution.com/promotion.php The fpr and pump combo is also a good deal if your looking to save.

99gst_racer : We'd rather not go into details about part #'s and how and why we choose the parts we did because this may lead to people trying to copy or hand make the kit in which you would probably end up spending more time and money doing it that way and end up with less compatible/safe kit.

I have a question about this kit, I prurchased it before it went on sale, and before a dvd or whatever was offered, it's sitting here waiting for me to install it.

Anyways, the high pressure spring is adjustable from 20-60 psi....does that mean, if I set it to 40 psi base, or 39.5 or whatever, that if I boost 25psi, it will only be able to raise the fuel pressure to a max of 60psi?
In other words is 60psi the max this regulator delivers, or just the max for it's base pressure.

Thanks,

Wayne
