Anybody running one of the $30-$50 intakes off of ebay. I'm only interested b/c they cost about $200 less than an injen and $100 or so less than a dejon. "100 or 200 less for a college student is like gold." They look just as good as ony other metal intake system.

Actually I know of a lot of people that buy those knock-off metal pipes with the crappy filters and just buy a K&N to top it off. It's much cheaper than buying the pipes from someone in the business of selling intakes.
The major difference MAY be wall thickness, and the quality of the finish of the piping. I've got some bargain basement blow-through piping where the powerdercoating wore off just from the couplers being taken on and off a few times. My Dejontool pipe is still mint. If that doesn't bother you, go for it.
Edit: I've also seen pipe with horrible fittiment, but not usually.

whats so special about a dejon pipe or something 100+ anyways? its just 3inch pipe/tubing... get the ebay one you wont have a problem

i couldn't be more than happy w/ all of my dejon pipes excelant fitments but on my eclipse i try to only go the best for it just b/c when you go cheap you just have to buy a new one after it breaks example for you ssautochrome manifold 100 bucks 3 weeks later welds on the flange cracked

im using 4" dryer ducking with a cold air box. costs like $10 in material and works like a dream.

My friends ebay know off was perfect fit, but the inside was a bit rough, nothing restrictive though. I will have to check what user he got it off.

Ive got it. Im very happy with it, tho it needed some modding to get it to fit right with my MAS. And I dunno about the quality of the filter that comes with it, but its been on my car for awhile now. Just buy the ebay one and if you want a better filter, get a K&N.
