so i need to replace my stock bc/ multiple leaks....
i just won a bid for $80 supra smic
would i have any cons. if im running 16lbs. stock evrything else?
i have future plans to get b16g.

you'll be fine with a 16g and the supra sidemount. only thing about it is that its hard as hell to install, ive seen pictures of people installing it, u gotta do a lot of fabricating and praying that everything fits. as for having it on the 14b it is unneccasary but wont hurt, the record for fastest 14b is on the stock 1g sidemount so you're fine

Yes you'll be fine with the MKIV sidemount.
I ran 18-19psi with a 50trim and MKIV sidemount aprox 2 summers ago.
I was definitely pushing the limits but it worked extremely well.
I'll never look back after getting the FMIC though.
You'll be fine.

You shouldn't have any problems, I would suggest cleaning it first and straightening any bent fins you can. I can't say what install is like on a 1g but it was pretty easy to do following the vfaq for my 2g gst, I did everything they said in the vfaq before I got it&it just fit right in. I would suggest hardpiping and I also did cut out the wheel well cover and put stainless steel mesh screening over the back to let more air out. FYI the mkiv tt supra's had 320hp from the factory, I wouldn't think that a 14b at 16psi would be making more then that? So it should be a great ic upgrade for when you get all supporting mods&really crank up the boost :rocks:

I let him know in a pm the same thing about the fender well cover.
What I used and was easier and stealthier can be found in the following thread.

Here's a thread I helped out with last year.
This has pics and tips from my install

Hope it helps

I am running a MKIV intercooler now with my small 16g at 22psi without any problem's at all. I do have 560cc injectors and a safc but it still cools the air enough to not have any knock. I have run a 14b up to 19psi on the MKIV with only a fuel pump upgrade and i only saw a few counts of knock. The pain in the ass install is well worth the gains.

i have your current setup

14b with supra smic. i just fixed the licp because it was so low, now its actually not hitting the ground. if you wantpics, ill be more then happy to send them to you. the only problem right now is its being held up by zip ties. :notgood:

14b with no porting here...i run my s. smic just fine, with a quite noticeable difference.
