If you are putting a new sensor in anyway, I think it would be fine to cut the wires. The new sensor will have new wiring up to the harness connector. I got my O2 sensor socket at Napa, it is pretty beefy. If your socket is too light you might want to look for a heavier duty one. Give the old sensor it a shot of screw loose or whatever you have that is equivalent. Let that stuff soak, give it multiple doses even. I put antiseze on when I replace the sensors. Use it sparingly though because it will wreck O2 sensors.

Good Luck,

Seth

If you're putting a new one back on, just cut the wires and use the impact socket to get it off, if that won't work, try vice grips.
