I have a 96 gst. Should I get K&N's filtercharger kit for $100-$120 or a K&N universal vone filter for like $40. Whats the difference? Also If i get a boost controller how high can i set the boost if i only have an intake and exhaust? thanks alot, Matt

get the whole kit...it replaces the stock intake and the air filter. you'll be able to hear your turbo spool louder and your bov when u shift.
if u only have an intake and exhaust, i'd only run about 12-13 psi to be safe. anything more your bov is just gonna leak...your gonna need an aftermarket boost gauge though.
but u can turn it up when u replace your stock plastic bov!

btw, if your looking for a very cheap intake, dejontool.com sells intakes for like 50 bucks. and u can get the $40 air filter

The Dejon intake won't allow you to use the $40 universal cone filter unless you're getting a VPC which is like $1000. Not a very cheap way to get an intake. Dejon does sell intake pipes that mate up with the factory MAS but that still doesn't help you with getting the $40 universal filter on your car. The filtercharger kit includes a MAS adapter which you need (the MAS is rectangular, the filter is round). Here's a REALLY cheap intake kit that includes a MAS adapter:

I don't know anything about it though. It may be kinda junky. You might be best just getting the K&N kit. Or you could get the universal K&N and hunt around for a seperate MAS adapter.
