I had a question on intercooler piping. I plan on using a HX35/40 Hybrid, and I'm looking for 500whp. The turbo has a 2.5" exducer, so I was going to run 2.5" to the intercooler. I haven't decided on the intercooler, but I will definitely get one for 500whp. I plan on maximizing airflow by matching up everything, piping > TB > manifold etc. I'm also planning an a 3" GM MAFT. Here are my 2 proposed solutions:
1) turbo > 2.5" piping > intercooler > 3" piping > 3" GM MAFT > ~3" TB > Port matched manifold
2) turbo > 2.5" piping > intercooler > 2.5" piping > reducer > 3" GM MAFT > ~3" TB > Port matched manifold
Would one setup provide a better airflow than the other? Am I missing anything? Any assistance would be great. Thanks.
