I need traction !

I have a 98 Eclipse GS-T (FWD) and I wanted to know what size drag tires I would need to get 12 seconds on the 1/4 mile ? Making horsepower is easy, transfering it to the road on a fwd is hard !

you're going to need slicks. Not just drag radials.

Probably going to be 14" wheels but what width ? What are you guys running on ?

well im awd... but I'm guess a 14x8 slick would put you into the 12s. Hopefully some one else can add their personal experience.

I've only had the car for 3 months and I bought it stock so for now I have a BIG16G, HKS EVC-IV, HKS SSQV, instrument dash bezel with Autometer boost gauge and a/f ratio gauge, K&N FIPK, ACT 2600, Symborski shift kit, crankcase breather&catch can, magnacor 8.5mm, NGK BPR6ES, 17" MILES MILIGA WITH 215-45ZR17, Fuel pump(rewire).
I will get an FP Green or a 20G upgrade... I am still waiting for tons of stuff to come in ... my list of mods are only what I have installed on the car... not what is ordered and waiting to get... the shipping is really slow some parts are B.O. for months ... I can't do my upgrades faster than UPS can deliver ...!

so right now your traction is like mine.. i have a big 28.. what times are you running right now, let me know how the slicks work out for ya, I wanted to go slicks but I dont wanna break stuff

In my opinion it's just as hard on the car to spin the tires than to have traction since you risk breaking the differential by spinning the tires. I broke two on my old car!

I haven't taken my car to the track yet ... I will very soon and I'll post my times ... also will do many dyno runs this summer and I'll post those also. I found your dyno runs very interesting and I wish more people would post them also. Very useful information!

just to let you know, my buddy got 97gst w/ s16g and he uses the MT slicks... he runs a 20*8*14. He had lots of spin before he got them, and hasn't broken anything, yet... He pulls 12.7 at the track

BTW: befor getting another turbo think about getting a LSD or some cams and head work..........people have went something like 11+ on a small 16g............something to think about
