ok ,with all the research ive done i found out that the bm fpr or raiser only raises pressure and doesnt lower,but why would you want to lower it more than 38 ??which is stock with the vac line off 43.7 with it on,since the stock fpr raises the pressure when it senses boost like the expensive AEROMOTIVE AFPR or the SX units

also found out that the stock fpr with the BM gets over run if you have a walbro 255 cause it has a small hole that goes to the return line,so why not just drill that hole bigger??if anyone has done this let me know what size to make this hole or if anyone knows what size it is on the AEROMOTIVE unit, TNXX

There is no way to modify the size of the Stock FPR's return orifice: http://www.taboospeedshop.com/FPR.htm

As for lowering your FP below stock.. no one does that. The only issue with the stock FPR is the overrun as stated above. Since the B&M utilizes the base of the stock FPRs including the small return orifice.. it also suffers from overrun when using >255HP pumps but does allow to increase base pressure.

BTW.. It actually works very well with a 190LPH pump.
 
TNXXXX,finally someone with some knowledge on this topic, i was thinking of getting an aeromotive 13109,any thoughts,good, bad ,something better with 6an inlet and outlet, dsm90awd

The Aeromotive is an excellent piece and just happens to be what I'm getting :D

The only thing you have to account for is that it'll take ~$100 in AN fittings, rail adaptor, and speacial fuel line to install. Same with the AEM and SX (s/a ESSEX or Edlebrock).

I have my 190 rewired with the B&M and can set my base FP as low as 38psi but set it to 43psi (stock 2G setting) to get more from my injectors. I've had no problems with overrunning it and my fuel trims are fine.

Obviously if you want to do it once get he 255HP and a true AFPR (Aeromotive/SX).. but IMO if you're looking for a basic system to support up to 375HP.. can't beat the 190/B&M setup for the price.

:werd: I have a 190 and 550's right now, the 190 is rewired. If the b&M will give me a bit more room for play, i'll have to look into it.

Well you almost answered your own question. Most people that run the 255 pump with the stock regulator have a problem with the fuel pressure being too high. The stock regulator is being overran causing the pressure to rise. This is why they need an true AFPR and not just a riser. After I installed my 255, my fuel pressure was almost 20 PSI too high.

BTW, the Aermotive 13109 is an excellent choice. :thumb:
