I just got my apexi n-1 catback system today. But decided to wait to install it untill i get my downpipe. I am also gonna get a test pipe since the heat shields on my cat always comes loose and makes that horrible buzzing sound. Besides the test pipe will flow better. I am gonna the buschur racing downpipe. He has 3 to choose from a 2.5 pressbent aluminum for 175, 2.5 manderal bent ss for 250, and a 3 inch manderal bent ss for 300. I heard that the 3 inch could cause boost creep unless you got supporting mods for it. A lot of people got the 2.5 downpipe. I got manderal bent for my exuast but do you think that manderal bent over pressbent on a 2.5 inch downpipe really makes to much difference. Do you think its worth the extra 75?

It all depends on what u want. But if u get the 2.5 inch Manderal bent pipe then its a TRUE 2.5inch pipe. Me personally i'm going with a 3inch DP. It just flows a lot better. Depends what kinda HP u plan on making in the future. If you plan on really moding your DSM then go with 3inch. If your doing basic performance upgrades just go with 2.5. And if the rest of your system is Manderal bent i would get the DP also.

50 more dollars? Hell if ya spend 250.00 on a DP that can be made for 30.00 then you might as well spend 300.00. It won't be stainless but it would serve it's purpose. And for 30-50 bucks just buy another if it rusts out in 2 years.
Economically speaking...

Yeah but the aluminum is pressbent not manderal. So i don't think it would flow as good. I would get the 3 inch but for now since my car is basically stock hp wise. The 3 inch would hurt me right now. Iv'e read that you have to have port work done and external wastegate for it to work good without boost creep. I will probably get the 2.5 manderal ss one.

You could still use the 3" without boost creep probably. I've never heard of it hurting unless the engine requires specific amounts of backpressure to run efficiently. I would get some more opinions before making a final decesion. I hate to see someone buy a product and be disappointed with it...

Well i'm not sure either but that is what it says on the buschur racing website. It says without sufficient port work and external wastegate it would cause boost creep.

my friend got a buschur full 3" exhaust, dp, straight pipe and everything. his car dropped a lil over a second in the quarter mile but lately he has been getting some mean boost creep. i dunno if its related to his exhaust or not. he wasn't paying real close attention the whoel time.

Just a quick question could you fit a 2.5 downpipe to a 3 inch test pipe to the 3 inch catback? Or would i have to get a 2.5 dp with a 2.5 test pipe? But then would the test pipe fit onto the catback?
