Anyone know of a company that makes nice tubular exhaust manifolds with the Mitsu 7cm flange, for an internally gated turbo...for cheap?
The best priced tubular manifold with a 7cm flange that I found is the Standard Log Manifold, made by Straight Line Specialties. It costs $250. Here is a link:

Anyone know about this manifold, is it any good?

Anyone know of a cheaper one? Otherwise I'll just go with a ported EVO III manifold, and forget about tubular.

Yea, I was looking at them. I was thinking though there has to be someone who makes custom tubular manifolds for our cars with the 7cm flange for around $200. They're probably just unknown...

I would look into the "log" manifod. Runners look large which would kill velocity but without the specs, who knows. I have an EVO3 ported. I keep asking DNP to lower their #26 by $0.soI could buy it!!

Chances are, if it is a cheap tubular manifold, it wont last long. Why do you need a tubular manifold anyway? A 2g cast manifold is by far the cheapest route to go and proven to work well and last a long time. If it is for looks alone, just get a cast manifold and have it ceramic coated. If you are hellbent on a cheap tubular, go ahead and buy 2 so you can swap it out after it cracks.

A good tubular manifold and cheap don't go together in the same sentence if you want it to last. There are reasons why a good manifold like DNP or something cost around $500.

You post has nothing to do with this thread.

That manifold is just for people too lazy to port a 2g. There is nothing special about it.
that manifold unported is larger than the portedest 2g mani on the planet. Larger so than the evo 3 mani ported as well.

If I gave you two identical cars, one with a ported 2g manifold and one with a SBR manifold, you would never be able to tell the difference.

This thread is for the best manifold. SBR manifold is not the best manifold for the 4g63. Period.

StapI3 he is considering cost. Which manifold doyou prefer, disregarding cost? I have been emailing DNP asking them to knocka $100. off their model 26. Maybe we need to start a group buy? I would try one of the ;log manifolds if it were me but I caould afford a failure of a $250. part, besides it could be rewelded. Are they new? First i saw them. Mark

DNP is about 70 miles from me. Evey once and a while I drop them an email offering to buy one for $100.off!
I'll drop an email and see if they would do a group buy. Mark

And this theory of yours was tested on a dyno some where when?

And it is indeed the BEST mitsu flanged mani for around 250........ :thumb:

The sbr manifold is definatly noticable in just appearence. First off, The flange is HUGE. I almost thought my bolts were not going to screw onto the studs. Unported, The runners are alot bigger then any ported to the max 2g manifold. The collector is HUGE. Stop posting information you obviously know nothing about. If you have not seen this manifold, Don't talk. If you have seen it, You most likly have an eye problem or are just some idiot that thinks a loud blow off valve is cool. Stop posting information you know nothing about.

you obviously have no idea what your talking about. as the SBR is the best cast manifold. for one. people run 50trims on ported 2gs, the SBR > 2g ported no matter how you look at it.

Hmmmmm do you see a difference?????, granted that SBR is ported and the other isnt theres still no way that you could make a 1g/2g manifold even comparable without porting the #### out of it and thinning it out so bad that it will crack.

The picture is of a ported SBR. I have one also, and love it. I think it's worth the extra $50 to get it ported if you have any kind of bigger turbo.

I guess those manifolds over at Straigt Line Specialties really arn't so much for our cars. I asked them for more information about the log manifold, but I recieved the following reply:

"The log manifold is not practical for a DSM. That manifold is for use mainly for Honda turbo applications."

It looked like a primarily DSM site though, but oh well. I may go with a ported evo III. The SBR manifold that is ported costs a little much. $300 plus shipping.

Dude, why? Haven't you been listening, the SBR mani unported is still bigger than a ported evo. Go check out SBR'S websight and look at the pictures side by side of sbr's next to the evo III mani, it's way bigger.

I am listening, it's my thread.
Remember I'm still considering cost here. I didn't say a ported EVOIII was bigger, cause it's not. It's just that I can find a nice ported EVO manifold for around $150. Given, the SBR may flow more, I don't know if it's worth an extra $100-$150 (unported, ported) plus shipping, plus tax (since Im in PA). I would rather have the SBR, but it costs more :(
I havn't decided yet, still looking around.

I would say a big NO. Any company that paints an exhaust manifold probably doesn't know what they're doing. Sure, it was high-temp, but it's still gonna flake off and get gross. And then since it's mild steel, once the paint's gone it will get worse.
