hey guys, i have my new o2 dump installed, its really loud - - - sounds kinda like a K20 with a CAI @ redline . . . (vtec power!!! haha yea right :thumbdown ) so anyway, it seems as though the pick up isnt as fast. with my stock ported housing, it would kind of hesitate, dunk you in your seat, then take off . . . w/ the dump, it just doesnt seem to have that dunking effect and also doesnt seem to have a really hard pull . . . is it possible that im getting a loss of power with the o2 dump ? or perhaps im concentrating on the sound it makes rather than the pull (because it really does draw ur attention away)... any ideas or suggestions ? :dsm:

by the way, my greddy profec B spec II (digital) still shows me hitting 23psi (it still creeps . . . all mods are in my profile, is the gauge reading wrong?, and i do not have a boost gauge to compare the two ...

oh yes it is a little on the loud side. I dont know how your gonna get away with it in CA i barely do in the motor city. but what do i know of the west coast. but uhh the wastegate is simply to control the turbo so i dont see how it would effect performance unless your wastegate is leaking and not allowing your car to spool as fast. what kind of psi are you running?

Did YOU install it? or a shop?

Its not hard it install so I’m guessing him. If you assuming he has a leak draining his power it would have to be pretty big. Stop being a TOOL.

well i would say that you profec is reading right becasue i have one and a mech. boost gauge and they read the exact same and as for the loos of power i dont thin it is possible to lose power with the o2 dump

just a shot in the dark, but perhaps the wastegate is doing its job better now, and the boost won't go as high? (less boost = less power)

What it could be is a sort of reversed placebo effect--what you alluded to in your post.
That could be very well be it.
It sounds strange, but it's what happened to me.
Generally, when people put on exhausts (on NA cars), they think their cars are a lot faster, but they're generally not much faster.

Yours could be the reverse.
The car's so loud that you think you should be moving faster.

Your external dump won't make much of a difference in terms of power. It may make slightly more horsepower due to less backpressure, but I doubt that it will be seen on a dyno.

So the car should be roughly the same speed as when it was internally dumped. You may just be expecting some awesome rush, but there is none.

Also, when I switched to an external wastegate and a 60trim, I felt that my car sounded a lot louder than it really was.
When I killed my friend's SS from a stop, I knew that my ears were making me expect more speed. And when the volume suddenly changes, but the car accelerates at the same rate as before, it is strange.
