Will this turbo work

No, you would need an install kit to the tune of around $200. I suggest a T-28 upgrade (direct bolt-on) from AGP, Forced Performance, or Turbochargers.com.

is the t28 better? jow much hp would i be running?

The T-28 is a direct bolt-on whereas the 16G is not and would therefore cost more.

You PMed me with a question of running it with no other mods. I would say that you should do a fuel pump rewire at the least. Also get a boost gauge other than factory and make sure to keep the boost low until you get some supporting mods.

As for how much horsepower you will have after replacing the turbo I would not venture a guess except to say that the T-28 is capable of supporting up to (in some cases) 360hp with the proper supporting mods.

What mods would i need to run the boost to up to 300 to 350 hp?

B16G is a great turbo for your car.

Installation is very easy, and does require a $200.00 install kit.

You need a new oil supply line also, so consider that when comparing prices. The t28 is an o.k. turbo, but it is still a rebuilt unit.

16g install kits come with new oil feed lines, etc. So, for a little more than a t28, you get a turbo that is an all around better performer. Check the times pages, ask around, there are a lot more 2g 16g cars running 12 sec. slips than that little t28 :)

All my opinion of course :)

You can run any turbo you want on a stock car without hurting it. Provided you are still running a stock BCS. Don't expect it to be a great performer. My friend and I used to have stock cars except he put a 16G on to replace a dead 14B. My car was faster at the strip, dead stock, over his 16G only car.

If you need a turbo to replace a dead one then a B16G is a good choice and the power will come later as you free up the intake and exhaust and turn up the boost.

At the minimum, to get the car running really good with a B16G you will need an MBC, a turbo back 3" exhaust, full pre turbo intake (K&N+Dejon hard pipe), 660s, AFC, IC pipe kit and a denso 150 fuel pump. That should be good to get you into the 12s pretty inexpensively.

Be prepared for a new clutch also.

That would be a really nice, fast, reliable, easy to tune 2G.
