My exhaust seal on my 50 trim is broke so I want to get it rebuilt or coverted to a new turbo since Ive wanted to upgrade anyway this winter..

Here are the choices

T3/TO4E 50 Trim Stock rebuild $300 : http://www.agpturbo.com/customer/product.php?productid=17&cat=65&page=1

or

T3/TO4E 60-1 Rebuild and upgrade $450 : http://www.agpturbo.com/customer/product.php?productid=18&cat=65&page=1

This is a daily driven car but I would like to be able to make 450-500whp on race gas also. I know the 50 trim can probly do that but woudl take ALOT of tuning to do so. Reason Im leaving towards 60-1.
What kind of spool times do you guys get on your 60-1 on a 2.0liter? My main mods that might affect spoolup are AGP FMIC, 3" Intake, 3" GMMAS blowthru, Magnus Intake Manny, HKS 272's, 3" Turboback no cat.

you making a dyno queen? Who cares how much power you makin if some body makin less is kickin your ass!

Moot point really. I voted 50 trim for streetability

I absolutely love your car. And I wish I can have it. But If I were you, I would look into the 60-1. You can make more power with it and making power would be easier to tune. But, I say your spoolup on your current mods with a 2.0l, I would say mid 4k's to low 5k's(at worst).
My 3065 spools pretty nicely and pulls pretty damn hard. You should look into a ball bearing setup. It would be a daily driven monster.

Naw, no dyno queen. Just would like to be able to get on the dyno with race gas and put down some respectable numbers. 350-400 is not enough to me.

Yeah I know, ball bearing GT35R would be awesome, but I just dont have that cash to spend right now. Just bought a bunch of mods for my durango, haha.

I am plannin on runnin the fp red off of my buddies car and he is on stock black and hits full spool on his 1g around 4300 at 24 psi its very steetable so is the 50 trim but hte 60-1 will make more power. He also runs the fp2's and jmfab intake mani. :talon:

is that on a stroker? Sounds like good spool up for a red...... where are you comin in at 90GSXDan?

9:1 compression?

I stuck with 8.5:1 on my car, guess I should of included that in spoolup effects.

it might be 8:8.1 im not sure though i would have to ask him but its not to bad shit im gonna run the red on stock bottom end. Im runnin a 20g rite now and its funny to watch me pull him for about 2 sexonds from a 50 roll then its over he FLIEs past go 60-1 all the way :talon:

Well, Im on a completely bone stock block with only arp headstuds. Comming in at 4600rpms.
I really wanted to pick up a pair of cams when i build my motor, How does the fp2's perform? Are they lumpy in the loop or they a clean smooth tone? How are they on the top end and low end?

I voted 50 trim for one reason....daily drivability. I guess it's all a matter of opinion on what is "streetable" but I've spent some time in a car with a 50 trim and the lag wasn't that bad (as you obviously know). As far as your horsepower goals go: With some good tuning and race gas you *should* be able to get close to the hypothetical 10HP per lb/min of airflow. That puts you at your target goal of 450-500HP. It would be easier with a 60-1, no question, but just how much lag are you gonna want to deal with on a daily basis?

Exactly why Im torn between the two. Ive been itching to go bigger tho, and now here is my excuse I guess. But I just cant decide for sure if I want to go 60-1 or not. Ben at AGP told me it would be 2-300 rpm slower spool over the 50trim, so not much at all really...

Is everybody thinking of 91 octane or something more like 93? Nobody has mentioned this yet. Would it make much of a difference in turbo selection?

Is it possible to get a 60-1 to spool @4k with no nitrous on a 8:5.1 compression? My buddy just got a 60-1 on his car, its awesome, it lags but hes auto. Wow 50/50.

60-1

I've got one and love it~! I get 21psi before 3500rpm on my stroker motor, so I'd look for spool times around 4k rpm. If you're already driving with a 50 trim then the extra lag won't be hardly noticable. Get the bigger turbo. You know you want to, you just want us to tell you to... ;) :thumb:

I'm driving an AGP RS49/50 trim right now but building a 6 bolt for future use. I think i am buying the AGP RS60T. The $699. price tag is too good to pass up! I already have the oil lines so my only question i whether the internal gate will hold boost. Bullseyeclaims to supply their turbine housing for that polished Turbonetics 60-1 and it's the best turbine I have used, I love it! $799. with internal gate. It will look great on my mantle until the 6 bolt is ready! AGP claims 30 PSI by 4000 rms with proper mods. I'd be happy with 20 PSI by 4k RPM's. I have a friend with a 60-1 on his 2.6 Conquest and he loves his and I will check out his spool and list it. Sure he has a 2.6l but it's a 2V not a 4v like ours so we can flow more. Mark

spoolin at 3500 on a stroker with a 60-1 wow that well F N A man i know ill be happy with my stroker this fall :talon: oh yeah the fp2's on my 20g are to bad a little lump here and there excellent topend power
