Guys,

I'm a newbie here from New Zealand .

My Galant VR4 is having some ign problems . above 1.5 bar (21 psi) it seams to be stuttering .... I have a Link ECU and 1000cc inj and 100 race fuel so it is definatly a spark issue

I'm runnig NGK BP8ES and 8.8 mm leads

What is the hp and or boost level that the std coils can handle ?

Thanks for any help

Byron

Most dsmr's run BPR series plugs, the resistor is there to help supress electronic noise, some people have had good luck running BR series plugs, but first off, what's your plug gap? I would bring it down to .023 or .025 and see if that helps first, then slowy increase it until it breaks up again, then close it a bit and you should have your limit. If that doesn't work try 7 heat range, 8 maybe too cold for those 1000cc monsters, and if all that fails get a new coil pack :D

I have made in the area of 560whp so far on the factory ignition. I have never had any problems. As others have said make sure your plug gap isnt too large. Also make sure you have good plugs and wires at all times. 1000cc injectors are pretty serious. Its very possible you are running way too rich causing problems as well.
