Hey guys, whats up

I going to sell my 98 dodge avenger and get an eclipse gsx auto ...

There is one thing I would just like to know ...

What is the deal with the crankwalk ... and how should I check the car before I buy

thanks alot

- Steven

Well I have a 98 and mine hasnt crankwalked yet at 80k. I regularly check my crank play as well. Personally, I wouldnt worry about it cause if you get it you get it, if you dont you dont. There are many speculations as to how, why, and how to fix. But nothing is really concrete for the most part. Drive the piss out of it before you buy it if you can. Listen for ticking noises and feel for odd clutch activity. These are the first signs of crankwalk. For a stocker, it should do quite nicely. If your gunna put some good punch into it then I would do alot of research. Obviously tho, all 4g63 blocks are higher than average risk but that doesnt stop ppl from making 800 HP from one. :D

autos dont have 2600lb clutches pressuring their cranks all day long either, a 98/99 atx dsm is the least likely of all of them to walk, its overhyped, dont worry about it

...especially if you buy one with only 40k miles on it.. ahem..

Crankwalk isnt an issue to automatic 2g dsms to the best of my experiences and on what I have seen... so i would say you are pretty safe in the crankwalk department...

By the way how much are you paying for this GSX.?

I found two from a "dealer" in the New York State for about 10500

hehe I got my 96 talon tsi awd with an a/t for $6700 and it had 36k miles on it. Im now at 41k miles.
