Cam gears if heads been resurfaced?

If he's just resurfacing, its fine. If he's decking it (say it was warped) think about a thicker head gasket!

assuming that the gears are 5in diameter, takeing .020 off will cause a change of about .45 degree's. Thats small enought that you can't repeatably change the timing by that much. so i wouldn't worry about it.

The head isnt warped on the car now and fine...just know the shops resurface them when you get them rebuilt......so the end result is I could get away with out adjustable cam gears?

Def, they only take a very small amount off on a resurface. Thats if it needs it. If its warped and they really have to goto town its different. But you can usually try a thicket headgasket in that case.
