I dont have much money to modify my car right yet and was wondering by cutting the muffler off would help me out still with the stock exhaust tubing? looking for easy power
Thanks

think of it like this, take a coffee straw and blow threw it. now flare the end of that coffee straw then blow threw it again. you will notice, that it will be no easier to blow threw that coffee straw, after you flare the end. this is basicly the same effect you will get by removing the muffler. to effectvly gain more hp from the exhaust you should port or replace the o2 housing, get a 2.50" d/p and 2.50 cat back. thats only if you plan to retain the stock turbo. remember for a turbo, car the best exhaust is no exhaust at all.

The only problem with the straw analogy is you aren't flaring the end, you are removing a restriction. Use that same anology, and cover half the opening with a piece of paper, and blow through it. You will gain power by removing the muffler, however it won't be worth the noise. Hollow the cat instead. That will actually gain you about 10hp with no real noticeable gain in noise. Good luck.
