Old head gasket and high boost?

I am about to put some new mods on my car but i am a little worried about my head gasket. I have a 16g, 2g exhaust manifold, 2g mass air flow sensor, walbro 190, Joe P manual boost controler. Do you think I will have a blown head gasket if i run, say 17 psi? Oh i have a 90 FWD laser with 150,000 miles. It was babied by my dad till I bought it from him 3 years ago and i am not hard on it either. Just wondering if i should invest into a aftermarket head gasket or if i will be fine.

I think you should be fine as long as you keep your car maintained, I am running 25psi with a 50 trim on the stock head gasket with 95k on it.

I have run 19 and 20 psi on a 14b for shorter (ie. i have the dejon dual boost controller so i run low boost mostly) periods of time on a 120k mile stock motor and gasket.

If you blow a headgasket, does it neccessarily kill your engine or head? This is assuming you notice it is broken and turn it off quickly. I don't think it continues running anyways. Not trying to hijack the thread just curious.
