I have a 95 GSX, it walked at 106k miles. I bought a complete 6-bolt motor including intake manifold, exhaust manifold, turbo, etc. I am going to use my awd tranny from my 95. My questions are, am I able to run the 95 ecu with the 6-bolt set-up,and can I keep my 2g MAF Translator, or do I need to buy the 1G translator? Does the 1G wiring harness work with the 2G ecu, or do I need to use the 2G wiring harness? I have the RRE CAS re-wire wiring harness...anyone who can help would be greatly appreciated. thanks!

Keep everything, just swap the motor with manifolds and turbo. Use your 2g harness. You will need to use an adapter to be able to use the 1g cam angle sensor with the 2g harness though.

i'm new to all the new ways to do it..................but dsm link was the best thing for me when i did it! i got all the rewiring specs off the magnus site and let link do the rest! since i've stepped into an aem ems and it's the same thing as far as wiring goes and ease of installation!!!

good luck :thumb:

You can keep teh 2g translator, it jsut plugs into the 2g maf plug and the rpm wire connects to the 2nd from teh left wire looking at teh 1g cam angle sensor.. (it's black)

you use your 2g ecu, magnus motorsports had a nice 1g in a 2g tutorial but there sites down... u have to take the wires of the 1g cam sensor to feed the cam and crank 2g sensors... which if you have the rre wire setup you should be fine

hard to explain, but good luck.. anyone know whay magnus is down?

but how does he fix the cylinder misfire without link or some kind of ems? i've heard you can run some kind of resister, but don't "quote" me on that!!

I have also just completed my 6bolt swap into a 2g. Do what magnus motorsports says. All you need to custom do is get a 90-94 CAS and wire it the way roadracing tells you to. You shouldnt have to switch plug and firing order. Its not too bad as long as you keep the whole engine swap organized. I suggestion getting a 90 CAS because it already has wires for you to wiring the cranshaft to and cam shaft sensor to.

Said and done, dont think about naythgn else then what magnus tells you and road racing. Once u get it in you will have shit loads of questions. Just get the stuff and start by taking ur old engine out and save ur money. Keep all your old 7 bolt parts

he has a 95' model, isn't it different than the 97-99 models when you do the 6-bolt swaps?

i'm aware of the sites! but my question is do the 97-99 models have to worry about the "cylinder misfire" problem?
